Compagnie & Co Day 13

It’s nice to see another holiday tea! Chocolate, orange, and spices are a suitably festive combination. I steeped the 2 g sachet in 250 ml of 190F water for 3, 5, and 7 minutes.

The dry aroma is of orange, chocolate, cardamon, and other spices. The first steep presents a pleasant mix of chocolate, orange, cardamon, other spices, and faint berries. The chocolate is the most noticeable flavour and persists in the aftertaste. The second steep is consistent, with fairly realistic chocolate, orange, raspberry, and less distinct spices. In the final steep, the chocolate is less apparent, while the orange and berries provide a sweet finish.

This tea is nice and cozy, though the chocolate and spices fade before the end of the session. As with most of their other green teas, the base isn’t obtrusive. It’s a sophisticated take on a chocolate orange tea that works pretty well.

Advent Day 23

Almost…. done…. with the…. holidaze…. So close and I’m ready to get back to normal life pace.
Ooooo! Cardamon and orange! It has chocolate too that appears a few sips in. I think all the chocolate orange teas I’ve had have been on a black base, so it’s interesting to try this on a green. If I sip frequently the cardamon fades to the back as the choco-orange takes center. It says there are red berries in here and spices other than cardamon. I can tell there is something extra, but I can’t pick it out.
I think I really like this one! If or when I place another order I’d pick some of this up.

Compagnie & Co Advent Calendar 2023 – Day 3

Ooh, this is one of their holiday teas! It says it has orange, chocolate, and spices, which sounds interesting.

The orange is definitely the strongest, and it’s a very bright orange oil-y sort of flavor. I do get a little bit of chocolate mid-sip, and it’s on the lighter side, more of a mild milky chocolate. Doesn’t taste like chocolate flavoring, which is nice. As for the spice… A hint of cinnamon, perhaps? I feel like it’s melding in with the orange so it’s a bit difficult to detect. There is also a touch of bubblegum, which is something I sometimes taste specifically in Dammann Fréres’s orange teas. Thankfully, it’s quite subtle here.

Very enjoyable! I like the brightness of the orange quite a lot, but would like a little more of the other flavors. The flavoring is also quite strong, I don’t taste the green tea at all here.
