From Czajownia

Harvest: 2022

Korean tea from the Jirishan Mountains
The highest quality Korean green tea from a plantation located in the Jirishan mountain range on the south coast of Korea. Nokcha DARACK is grown on a wild plantation in Jiri Shan National Park. Sejak-type tea – harvested after Kogu (April 20) until about May 5. Harvesting and processing by hand according to a special method. The leaves are roasted in a pan.

Champion tea
It is characterized by small, correct leaves with a dark green color. Nok Cha comes from the Jukro plantation – a tea producer with traditions dating back several generations. Harvesting and processing are carried out manually, and the most important stage of roasting the leaves is performed only by the Master himself – Mr. Cho Yun Seok.

Borderline flavor
The light green infusion hides an amazing taste “bordering” between the taste of Chinese and Japanese green teas. The secret of the unique taste of this tea is a special way of gently roasting the leaves after drying. In free translation, the name carries the message: “enjoy your tea”. The taste has delicate notes of roasted nuts and characteristic sweetness. Tea for special occasions.

BIO certificate
Tea from organic farming, certified BIO. The plantation not only meets environmental standards, but is an element of biodiversity as part of the Jiri Shan National Park and is subject to special care to preserve its natural state.

I visited Wroclaw recently and was pleasantly surprised to find the superb “Czajownia” tea house in the town. After spending a few hours there, I also brought back a couple of Korean teas.

This one is a high quality green tea with very tender leaves. The taste is smooth and pungent with enough complexity. Its flavour profile ranges from vegetal to grassy, but it has lots of other stuff going on which makes it a very engaging brew – you can find marine, fruity and floral notes for sure, with a pleasant nutty, citrusy and almost spicy aftertaste.

It is not cheap, but also not crazy expensive for Korean standards, I can definitely recommend it.
