From Miss Tea

Whole leaf Pu’erh tea from Yunnan with coconut and cocoa. Crisp, smooth, sweet and nutty! Can be enjoyed with whole milk, almond milk, rice milk. This is our great substitute to coffee!

Ingredients: Organic Pu’erh, Organic Cocoa nibs, Organic Coconut pieces, natural flavors.

How to Prepare Use 1 teaspoon of tea per cup (8oz of water). Heat water to 200 degrees and steep for about 2-4 minutes. Remember to take out the tea on time, as white tea tends to get bitter if left for too long in hot water.

Flavor Sweet and yummy!

Bought this at the Coffee and Tea Festival NYC in Brooklyn last month. It is fairly good. However the cacao is not very strong and the coconut is a little too strong for the blend. Between the flavorings they do a good job of muting the fermentation of the puerh however. Overall this is good. I would just like it if it had more of a chocolate taste.

I brewed this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 3 minutes.

Boiling 3 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

This makes a delicious cup of tea. I bought it without tasting it at the Coffee and Tea Festival in Brooklyn. The chocolate flavor isn’t too heavy and the coconut is more noticeable than the chocolate I think. It definitely still tastes like tea, which sometimes gets lost on heavily flavored teas. Overall I it has a great balance and I’m planning to get more.

It’s dark and rich with the cocoa being the primary flavor supported by the deeper tones of the pu-erh. It’s not strong or heavy. It smells chocolaty, but there is little to basically no chocolate to the taste. Just a thick brown molasses textured flavor of cacao filling the mouth.

Note: that’s molasses feel, not flavor.

Slight natural sweetness that isn’t defined but is, like the earthy pu-erh, an underlying structural support.

Heavy enough flavor to be satisfying. Noticeable and distinct without a strong pu-erh taste. If you’re a cocoa lover I strongly suggest it. But also light enough that it doesn’t overwhelm the palette, good for any time of day, IMO, or with most foods.
