Jin Xuan is a tea strain only grown in Taiwan. Jin Xuan, also called No.12, was created by hybridizing Taiwan No. 8 (Assam Jaipuri strain) with Ying Zhi Hong Xin (a strain with a hard stem and red inner). Although Jin Xuan is a relatively new cultivar, first grown in the 1980’s, it is the second most popular tea strain in Taiwan, after Chin Shin Oolong.
Jin Xuan Tea has become so popular for reason. Jin Xuan Tea is one of the most exuberant tea strains in Taiwan. With proper care, Jin Xuan tea trees can be harvested all year round. Most farmers harvest with machines to cut down the cost for mass production. Other than economic reasons, Jin Xuan Tea is known for its unique milky flavor, which appears naturally from the strain itself. The name, “Milk” Oolong, often misleads people into thinking that the Jin Xuan Tea is made with milk. The high quality Jin Xuan Tea has a splendid naturally creamy flavor with a touch of toffee sweetness. When brewed, the tea has a bright honey green color, and leaves a palate-pleasing osmanthus fragrance en su boca.
This tea comes from Wuhe area, near the Tropic of Cancer. The farmer’s family has been devoted to organic farming for generations. Unlike other farmers, this farmer makes Jin Xuan Tea only from the finest hand-picked leaves. To maintain the fertility, the farmer only harvests in spring and winter, leaving the farm in fallow for the rest of the year. With pride, we provide this first-rate Jin Xuan Tea for your appreciation.
