Here’s Hoping Teabox – Round Six – Tea #13
I used two of these teabags, but somehow the flavors that were supposed to be here were still pretty weak. I would have no idea what the flavor even was. The green tea wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t the best. I don’t think any spices could really shine in a green tea anyway. I love how the description says “rich plum”… I don’t think there was any plum here. I was going to try some of the Perennial Plum but upon looking at the blend, it looks like the Della Terra plum blend, which I have a ton of… so I’ll leave that one for others to try!

This is okay. The aroma is very nice but the flavor leaves something to be desired. It’s not bad by any means. It’s just not inspiring. The plum flavorings adds a tartness that pinches the back of my mouth. The cinnamon is very calm and easily overlooked. The base isn’t fresh so it’s neither grassy nor vegetal. It’s that sort of generic, green, bagged tea base that doesn’t contribute a lot of flavor one way or another.

I guess I’m not mad that my husband has already drank more than half of the tin. I asked him what he thought of it and his opinion was aligned with mine. It’s nothing special but it’s drinkable. I think he just likes the ease of dropping a teabag into a cup of microwaved hot water. He’s not one for boiling water on the stove and the somewhat long but relaxing routine of brewing tea. He’s more for instant gratification. I think I may leave the rest of this one to him.

This is actually pretty good! I did a short steep and got a lot of the fruit flavor with just a little of the spice. The green tea in this blends well with the fruit—I’m really getting to like fruit/green mixes. I don’t know that I’ll restock this one because it’s a little generic but judging from this cup I wouldn’t refuse a cup if it was offered.

Funny how your taste for tea can differ from one season to the next or when your pregnant. When I first tried this tea I wasn’t very big on it but this time I like it quite a bit more. I found two things. 1: This tea is better hot and 2: you have to be careful with the steeping times.

Next time I would like to try it with honey and see if that does anything.

The taste is pretty light, I can taste the plum a little but not so much any spices. Steep longer?

*I got it from book club and it got lost in my pile o stuff lol. Thanks Josie :)

This tea didn’t sound very appealing to me, but I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy or all high-pitched fruit, but a mellow green with cinnamon and a touch of plum for depth. Having said that, it was a little flat. Still, quite pleasant.
