wangderm is the best tea powder for making thai iced tea. it is orange in color and i brew it in my coffee pot. one/half cup per pot. i add lots of sugar and when i want a glass i add crushed ice first then the tea and on top i slowly pour half and half. it will rise to the top. this is what our local restaurant uses. so delishious.

This is the tea our local Thai restaurants serve. Delicious, and bright orange when you add milk, but no one seems to know what kind of tea the “tea powder” is. Anyone out there know?

It works very well with condensed milk (or condensed coconut milk, if you prefer) and tapioca pearls. By itself it’s somewhat lacklustre. I wouldn’t really call it ‘powder’ exactly; it’s just finely chopped leaves. It won’t dissolve in water, but can be used with any reasonably fine strainer.

It’s some kind of black tea, but from the taste obviously has various spices added to it too (which is good). The ingredient “tea powder” is kind of not complete. I would guess black tea, maybe cardamom, some other stuff.
