16 Tasting Notes
What a whole lot of surprise! My first time drinking guayusa, and it was full of surprises indeed. I mean I have never drank anything apart from the regular tea and moringa. But this one is unique. Grassy and earthy and authentic – it’s not for everyone though but a perfect alternative to tea and I hear, a great stimulant without those caffeine!
Flavors: Earth, Grass, Wet Earth
When DT had the new feel -good collection, I knew I had to try one.I chose mango turmeric mostly because I love turmeric tea and the health benefits are endless. The tea is ok – not fantastic. I couldn’t taste anything else apart from the turmeric (actually tastes like my turmeric tea i make from the turmeric powder). Unfortunately I couldn’t taste any mango.
Would I drink it again? Yes. Repurchase? Maybe no.
Are you kidding me, one of the best black teas by DT! And here I was looking for an “afternoon tea”, ideally something light like green tea or white tea. But there was one tea left from DT that I hadn’t tried (which my bf bought for me last Christmas). I think I put this off for a while because I thought the spice scent was way too strong and I wasn’t sure how it would taste like in a tea. Brewed for a little longer than 7 mins – I could smell the spices from my teapot already! Still, I was hesitant about the tea, not expecting much…but wait for it..had my FIRST sip and boy it was AWESOME!
First note – I could taste and smell the spices
Middle – Black tea
And lastly – the tea leaves a sugary, creamy almost mild spice and a very bold aftertaste flavour.
(Although I don’t really get the reference to ’french toast)
But anyway, I totally underestimated this tea. It just feels like Christmas again!

Bought this in Paris CDG Airport at the departure lounge. I was so sad I wasn’t able to buy teas from Mariage Freres. I thought this smelled nice – not too perfumey. I like teas with bergamot and vanilla. However when I tried this tea I was a little disappointed. Nothing special about this tea – can’t taste the spices. The black tea was very powerful that I can’t even taste vanilla. I don’t know, maybe I steeped for too long. I’m giving this another try.
It’s my first time drinking genmaicha so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Having my first HUGE tumblr of the tea and the verdict: I love it! It’s unlike any other green teas / teas. Smells and tastes like burnt rice. Although I have to admit the burnt rice taste seems to overpower the green tea. I could even see that there seems to be more rice than green tea in the can.
Nevertheless, this could be my everyday tea as it is light and smooth. Btw, I have the habit of just leaving my tea leaves steep while drinking it. While many may think that it gets too bitter if you oversleep, but not to me. For this tea, it doesn’t get any more bitter. May not be the correct way but who cares! As long as it tastes great!

I bought this tea following the good reviews and its claim to be the “best chocolate tea”. Drank this after returning home from my long winter vacation in Europe. Missed all the French pastries and desserts and hot chocolates…
Anyway, yes, a great tea for chocolate + mint lovers. The chocolate flavour is strong upon first sip and the mint lingers on. After drinking this tea, I found out that I’m not a huge fan of strong minty teas (except for pure peppermint tea), but that’s just me —> It’s good but not great.
