Mini Artisan Pu-erh Hearts from Chi of Tea
73

I don’t feel entitled to give this a number rating, but I don’t know how to review it without the rating, so please feel free to ignore the number.

This is not my type of tea, but it is probably good for those who like Pu-erh. (I’m fairly particular about what I like in tea——my tastes are not refined, but I am picky.)

This tea has the earthy scent, and also tastes somewhat earthy, which I don’t enjoy. However, it is a somewhat pleasant tea to drink.

I’ve only steeped it once, so far, and I am surprised at how flavorful it is with such a quick steeping. I prefer it with a touch of milk, but no sugar.

The presentation of this tea is my favorite! It is soooo adorable & just seeing the little hearts is enough to cheer up anyone!

So, while this is not at all my type of tea, it would probably be a good choice for people who are interested in Pu-erh teas, or it would make a great gift for tea lovers.

Thanks to Chi of Tea for the sample!

I loved this tea! Such a lovely dark black tea. Stands up very nicely to milk & sugar. Very smooth & rich tasting.

(I only wish it was available in decaf.)

Mangalam Assam TGFOP1 from Joy's Teaspoon

This was a very good black tea. Nicely balanced & it stood up well to milk & sugar.

[Thank you so much for the sample!!!]

Cinnamon Roll from Joy's Teaspoon

I generally dislike flavored teas. However, this is one of the few exceptions—-I like this tea quite a bit.

The cinnamon flavor, while being very flavorful, is still subtle enough not to be cloying or overwhelming.

I would describe this as a very pleasant & soothing tea.

I’m beginning to run out of this tea & I’m starting to worry about how I’ll replace it. It is a lovely, dark, strong black tea.

Have also continued to drink this & have found that with really hot water & a long time to steep, it is really good!

Have continued to drink this & have found that, with really hot water & a very long steeping time, it is fabulous!

I am very sad that I’ve run out. (And, that I don’t even actually know what it was so I could someday replace it.)

Decaf Ceylon from Adagio Teas

This was a nice decaf black tea. Not quite as strong as I’d like, but I’m sure that could be fixed by adding more tea. Had a surprising bit of sweetness to it.

English Breakfast Decaf from Twinings

Not as strong as I’d like, but an ok choice for a black decaf.

unidentified decaf black from Harrods

Pretty much flavorless. However, that could be due to its age, or possible improper storage.

[Edited to add: I’ve revised my score for this tea as my experience has improved.]

Sultane from Mariage Frères

Nice unflavored black tea. Enjoyable flavor. Stands up nicely to milk and sugar.

Too much caffeine for me, but I prefer decaf. This is good for times when I have NO energy.

This is a good strong, basic black tea. However, the caffeine is just too much for me to handle on a regular basis. (I prefer decaf.)

Not very much flavor. Some flavor if allowed to steep for a realllllllyyyyyy long time.

However, this tea is very old & has possibly been stored improperly.
