Here’s Hoping Teabox – Round Six – Tea #5
I’ll just be writing teabox notes in an e-mail draft and then posting 2-3 of them on Steepster a day. So sometimes a tasting note might actually be from a day or two before. This is usually how I do things with my other tasting notes though!
This was an okay green tea, the leaves look like torn up ACTUAL leaves, though very dark green in color, so that is different. Only hints of anything “island” (not sure what that should be anyway), but it probably isn’t helped being stored in a thin sandwich bag. I tried it anyway!

I didn’t like this tea when I started my cup. By the time I finished I was enjoying it. It is not especially complex but then again they have only been making teas in South Carolina for a few years. It has a malty and slightly bitter taste with a slightly sweet finish. I brewed it for 3 minutes at boiling with 3 tsp tea in an 18 oz pot. It is not as good as Chinese tea but I think it worth a try.

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML
