Another tea from Martin – many thanks!

This is tied with Raspberry Lime for flavor! I actually drank this one yesterday at lunch. For me, the stevia is sweet enough and I do not add any sugar. The peach was more noticeable in this one than in the Peach Passionfruit. I didn’t realize that this was a black tea when I made it but no worries – I had it early in the day! Super convenient. Thank you, Martin!

Another tea from the big box that Martin sent – many thanks!

This is one that Ashman and I each had tonight. Neither of us have wanted to take the time to make a big pitcher of decaf tea and the fridge has been pretty full of birthday cake (just finished) from my daughter and coconut cream pie (also finished today) from my best friend, so there wasn’t much room left anyway. These teas have come in really handy!

I didn’t realize that was passion fruit in the picture on the wrapper. It looked like a peach and a bowl of oatmeal which didn’t seem a likely tea blend, but I have seen stranger things. Other than oeach, I didn’t know what flavor to look for in the tea.

That’s okay, because the flavor I got was peach plus generic berry. I still liked it! It was definitely sweet enough for me from the stevia but I added simple syrup to Ashman’s glass because he likes his cold tea sweet. He may not have needed it.

I liked the raspberry lime better but this was serviceable enough and helped me delay making a big pitcher by one more day! I have no excuse now to put it off anymore since the fridge has more room now!

I got a fantastic birthday package in the mail today from Martin! Tea and chocolate! Many thanks, Martin!

I didn’t look up the instructions for this one before making it and just assumed that you were supposed to steep it in the fridge for six to twelve hours like most cold brew teas I have done. After about two hours I saw that there was already lots of color and decided to have it with supper since it was caffeine free and wouldn’t keep me up tonight.

I have now read Martin’s review of it, and I definitely enjoyed it more than Martin did. The stevia didn’t bother me, which is really unusual because usually that is a big blech from me. The fruitiness was nice and I felt like the citrus tingle was maybe more lemon than lime and gave it some sparkle. It was so convenient, too! I will definitely be making more for lunch tomorrow!

This one seems to be best from all 3 I have bought (not sure if there are others available).
I let it steep longer than recommended (forgot I have prepared it :D ) and then I put it into fridge.

After 9 hours of chilling there, I got a drink that was distinctly raspberry, though a bit flat; and indeed a bit of lemon was there making it a bit more refreshing as well. On the other hand, they have on the box “lime”, which would be better in my opinion. However both fruits were quite flat tasting and sadly also the stevia ruins it with cloying sweet aftertaste

Whyyyyyy do they add stevia to so many things???

I wish I know ashmanra. Replacing hibiscus tartness with cloying stevia sweetness?

So, these cold brew bags I have prepared as intended. That’s steeping in cold tap water for 5-8 minutes. Instead of drinking it right away I decided to put the glass into fridge and drink it after coming home from afternoon (late) shift (2pm-10pm).

I was looking forward to it all shift long, knowing that refreshing glass is waiting for me and sadly I was betrayed. It was refreshing, but only fruit I have noticed was peach, very flat tasting and definitely no passion fruit; instead I got some generic, rose-hibi fruity flavour. And I have used two bags. as one should be for 200 ml only and I have used 400 ml.

Sad. But well, what I have been expecting from tea that costs a little more than euro and is bagged?

Today, I will prepare the last of 3 flavours available — raspberry & lime (while pictured and in ingredients is lemon (come on!). I hope it will be better.

I bought 3 boxes of Cold Brew tea blends in local store in Germany, as warm (read hot) days are coming and iced tea will be a good idea how to survive them. After all, we have ups around 25°C which is very uncommon for the April (eh, May already). And we are at the foothills of Erzgebirge.

I digressed from the tea. I prepared it hot, one bag for my 500 ml mug and it seems it is a wrong preparation method for this tea. It was smelling great, but tasting flat. There is cloying stevia sweetness, stronger than peach; some peach notes… and black tea base. There is absolutely no complexity in the cup and more apptly description would be a sweet peach juice diluted with lots of water. So flat and fake tasting.
I will try cold water next time as intended, maybe even putting it in the fridge. That will be, hopefully, a bit better.

Plus points for outer wrappings.

From the pile of loose teabags I got for christmas

I have no idea what is in this tea. Not even after drinking it. I don’t know what the flavour is, but regardless it is not good. I think there is a hint of nettle, and maybe lemon balm? It has a herbal medicine kind of taste, which might be it’s main purpose given it’s name (stomach-nice, making a pun with stomach-ache in Dutch)
Nope. nope. I have poured out most of this.

I found this tea way to bitter – keep in mind I am not a fan of flavored black teas.
