NaNoWriMo 2012 - who's in?
I know there are several writers among the tea drinkers here, so I’m hoping to have a NaNoWriMo group! For those who don’t know, November is National Novel Writing Month! It’s a 30 day marathon to get down the first draft of 50,000 words or more of your own novel. I thought about participating for a couple of years, & last year I finally went for it! So I have this year’s outline lined up, more or less, & I’m sure my tea drinking will rise to new heights, as I type on my laptop, laughing, crying, & babbling incoherently to myself, while working on this year’s masterpiece.
For more info on national novel writing month, visit the official website at www.nanowrimo.org
I’m Angrboda there as well, so feel free to add. If you use a different name there, let me know who you are, though.
I’ve got my idea all ready and everything. It’s all in my head, though. I should prepare a little in writing as well.
cracks knuckles roll on, November!
I would but I am just far too busy these days with other projects. Thank you for posting – maybe next year for me. xo
I was just about to post to this. Every year I say I’m going to do it and never do, so this year I think I might try.
My name is nanoTEAmo – yeah how appropriate, right?
I can’t seem to find you Rachel.
I haven’t really filled out too much info yet though so
It’s pretty sparse.
I just realized I don’t remember what my name there, LOL! Probably HarpSinger. Tomorrow I’ll have to find my list of names & passwords, cuz I can’t remember my password either (good thing I keep a list on my desk).
It’ll be my 4th year trying, and I’m hoping to win for the 3rd time!
My username there is declaro, and you’re welcome to add me if you want to cry over the frustrations of NaNo, talk about tea, or generally just say hello. :)
I’m in for my third time and this year I donated as a way to help out NaNo and to encourage myself to FINISH! I’m xFunnyFacex over there…feel free to add me. I’ve also got a support group over on Facebook. Let me know via message here if you’d like me to add you to it. :)
I’d like to be added to the Facebook group. I need all the support I can get.
You can include me on your facebook group! My name there is Terri Stamper Langerak
I have to add you as a friend first. If that’s ok?
Done! It’s a closed group and I think that’s why.
I’ve decided to be an idiot and try this! I’m bronzebold on NaNo – can I be added to the FB group? I’m Michelle Feda on Facebook, it’s okay to add me.
I’m going to be doing unofficial NaNoWriMo! I’m already working on a book but it’s going slowly, so I am going to really push myself to get a ton done in November. Of course you’re supposed to start from scratch on the NaNoWriMo novel so I won’t be updating progress to their site or anything.
Oh well, we don’t care, you can hang with us anyway! My story from last year is still in rough draft form, and I toyed with the idea of doing a rewrite as well this year, but I’ve got another one that’s been waiting to be written for years too, so I’m gonna focus on it this time.
Oh, they have a whole forum section for “NaNo Rebels” that you should join in on!
Not me! I did it in July, but I’ve got too much going on at school. Also, I’m too much of a poet to handle one story for so long. I’ve got commitment issues. :)
How’s The Idiot coming along? I’m so interested in this project of yours!
You remembered! :) It’s coming. My professor is in Europe until the end of October, so it’s kind of been on hold – I’ve added in a few scenes and rewritten a few others, but it’s been on the back burner until he gets back.
We’ll have auditions in mid-November, and once we’ve cast it and figured out exactly how many people we have and who we have, that’s when we /really/ get into the rewrites and edits. When we have a finished script, I’ll send it to you if you want!
Oh that would be awesome!
It’s a favorite of mine of the great Russian masters.
If you’re looking for a great Tolstoy equivalent that few Americans have read try the RESURRECTION. A great but flawed story.
I’m going to give it a try this year, we will see how it goes.
