Making note of having a tea without writing a tasting note

Hello all,

I was just wondering if this either exists, has been discussed before, or would be useful to the site. Currently, if I drink a tea that I have already made a tasting note for (and if I don’t feel the need to add anything to what was already said), I can’t do anything to note the fact that I’ve been drinking that tea. Even the site itself tracks tasting notes as a way of counting how many times one has had a certain tea.

Wouldn’t it be better to add a functionality that would allow people to specify that they are drinking that tea that day, but without having to re-review the tea? Maybe even in addition to that functionality, some sort of very basic statistic system can be made to show how much more often people drink one tea over another, or what teas are drank most often from certain vendors, etc.

Thoughts?

Edit: I think this would also eliminate a bit of this problem: http://steepster.com/discuss/278-utterly-annoying-tasting-notes

RE: “if I drink a tea that I have already made a tasting note for (and if I don’t feel the need to add anything to what was already said), I can’t do anything to note the fact that I’ve been drinking that tea” … Yes you can. You are not required to write a tasting note or list the steepinging temperature or time. Simply click “Add Tasting Note” and then click save w/o doing anything.

And it won’t come up in the list? Hmm… If that’s the case, then maybe we can still consider the latter part of my suggestion about the stats.

In any case, that’s not a really clear way of doing it… As I didn’t realize you can add a note without adding a note… lol

@ Raffi -I myself only recently discovered what Cofftea already explained. I was wondering why on the ticker thing it said “Cofftea drank mandarin matcha” and how she got it to do that! I agree with you it’s not really clear. :)

I didn’t know this existed either. Probably good not to see how much of some teas I’ve been drinking. Although I notice when I look at the nearly empty tins :(
