Davids Tea Glass Perfect Mug

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody who has the Davids Tea Perfect Glass Mug knows whether it keeps the tea warm or not? I’m wanting to buy a mug from Davids Tea but I’m not sure if I should go for ceramic or glass… I like the look of the glass better but I want to make sure its still functional. Thoughts?

I can’t vouch for the glass mugs at DT, but I do know they have a couple of ceramic Perfect mugs on clearance at 40% off, if price is a factor. I’ve got a few and love them (Nordic mugs too).

I have four of them in glass and love them. They are thinner than the ceramic, so I imagine they insulate a little less and are more fragile. I don’t have a problem with the tea going cold on me, but your standard of how long it should keep it warm my differ from mine. I really like that you can see the color of the tea, which is why I chose them, but I do wish they came in more frosted patterns.

If heat retention is the issue, then double-walled glass might be something to consider. Leaf and Spoon’s Turin double-walled cups come in two sizes and you get two cups for $26. I have the Oslo cups which are a smaller shape and don’t have a handle. They also have mugs similar to the David’s mug but cost more.

I have one ceramic and one glass (perfect mugs). The glass does lose heat more quickly, but we’re only talking a difference of a few minutes. If you’re looking for something to keep your tea hot for an hour or warm for hours, these aren’t the way to go. If you’re drinking it within an hour-ish, you’ll be fine.

Thanks for all the input! I forgot about the clearance section at Davids Tea so I ended up buying one of the mugs from there. Next time, though, I think I’ll go for the glass mug.

Huzzah for clearance! I’ve got one at work, and one at home. Hubby also has one at work. They can be super handy, and the infusers work in all sorts of tea-related situations.

The glass octopus and other fun stuff was just added to the sale page (including 16 oz timolinos and carry jugs!) — 40% off! I have the glass octopus and it keeps the tea warm enough for me. But I don’t mind lukewarm tea, either.
