106 Tasting Notes
Got this by backing the kickstarter for this company. Yum this is really tasty. Smells like a creamsicle. I had it hot one evening and it was delicious but right now I am tasting it after a cold brew oh man it is good iced. Very mellow on the hibiscus flavor which I appreciate. Not very tart at all. Definitely would love to purchase a full size of this in the future.
Another tea I got in my Happy Bag from Lupicia, it is an ok gemaicha blend. I love genmaicha so I was excited to try this. It is not horrible but not great either. Just a kind of basic genmaicha for me. The black soybeans didn’t really change the flavor as much as I thought they would. Still has the basic roasty type flavor to it but it just missed the mark for me. Oh well.
Preparation
I adore this tea. When I opened my happy bag in the mail and saw they including a 2 oz pack of this I was so excited. I had only received a sample tea bag of it before and was dying to get more of it. It’s such a yummy buttery tea. Very smooth and always a delight to drink. When I run out of it I definitely plan on keeping some in my cupboard from now on.
Preparation
Got this tea in the postal teas subscription box. Love that I was able to try three different oolongs from Tea Ave. My favorite out of the three was the magnolia oolong but this one is a close second. I love ginger so I was excited to try this one. It has a very subtle gingersnap flavor to it. Very pleasant and smooth. I have really enjoyed all the oolongs I have sampled from Tea Ave so far. I will definitely purchase from them in the future.
Found this in my tea cupboard when I was cleaning it out the other day. This is a very mild earl grey. The bergamot is very light almost not even there. It’s not a bad earl grey but it’s not the best either. Just meh for me.
Preparation
I liked this much more then I thought I would. I am not a huge fan of Teavana so I normally don’t get any of their teas. A friend of mine had a bunch of tea she wanted to get rid of so she gave me a full two ounces of this. So I am happy that I do like it or else it would’ve just sat in my cupboard until it went bad. I am getting much more of a nutty flavor from this than tropical. Which is fine for me since I prefer teas with a nutty flavor. Not too bad but I would never purchase it.
Flavors: Nutty, Pineapple
Preparation
Went through my drawers in the office and realized I had this one left over from a while ago. It was a single serving so it was completely sealed so I figured it would still be good and let me tell you oh yes it is still delicious. I love Dammann Freres they have such interesting flavor combinations. I am a big fan of marzipan and in this tea it is quite nice. A sublte nutty flavor too yum. It’s finally getting chilly here so this is such a delight to warm me up on this chilly morning. :-)
Flavors: Almond, Marzipan
Preparation
Found out that my Vitamin Shoppe has a suprisingly good selection of teas. They had a bunch a rishi and pukka teas which I am a fan of both. They even had some from the Tea Spot. Who knew a vitamin shop would be a source to get loose leaf teas. This one caught my eye since I am into all things chai. It seemed like an interesting blend so I picked it up. The smell out of the bag was minty with a hint of chai spice to it. Steeped the mint mellowed out a lot which was nice. The chai flavoring is very mild, This is a delicious chai but my only gripe is that the chai flavors be stronger.
