This was the first “good” tea we ever bought. It was purchased at Barnes and Noble because my youngest daughter pleaded with me for hot tea since we hadn’t had any in a long time and we decided to try something better than the grocery store stuff.

Back when I first bought it, I always took tea with milk and sugar. Every tea. No matter what. Now I still add milk and sugar at breakfast, but that is the only time.

Today I decided to see if I could like a breakfast tea taken plain. I did! I did! Note that Royal English Breakfast is not the same as Harney’s English Breakfast at all. They are very different teas, and if I had to compare this one to another of their teas, I would compare it to Supreme Breakfast, which is really good and a bit heartier on the assam. This was a brunch treat with 72% dark chocolate.

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fifteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
