drank Pineapple Shaman by Wise Ape Tea

OK, I brought this to work not only to enjoy, but to freak out my non-teaist work buddies. (“Here! Smell this!” to the same friend who says Constant Comment smells like “a well-greased old lady.”)

That said, I can’t remember trying (and enjoying) a blend this unusual in a long time. Most of the lapsang blends I’ve sampled over the years are far too strong and smoky; in this case, there’s just enough of a hint to accent the pineapple and peppery spices. Currently sold out at Wise Ape, but I hope to see it resurface so you can try some ;)

This sounds interesting!

I’m not sure what I’d recommend for a food pairing, but it made me ask my husband to grill hamburgers this weekend :)

(Back in elementary school, our fourth grade teacher would read poetry to us of a morning, and there was one that started, I meant to do my work today, but a brown bird sang in an apple tree… and ended, what else could I do but laugh and go? Yeah. That’s why I’m outside in the glider savoring First Day of Spring sunshine.)

I am also savoring (or at least I was; cup’s empty now) a really unusual tea that I could learn to love. Normally, I’m not a lapsang fan—I keep a little around for “dare drinks” when I serve tea to my Sunday kids. They call it “bacon tea” and a few ask for more.
However, lapsang is what makes this fruit-darjeeling-herb bonanza unique. It tastes like grilled pineapple, which we love at our house. Just enough smoke to authenticize the other ingredients. Really enjoyable.

Youngest says she would never have made it through higher maths without lapsang. She loved it from a young age. I think it is delicious paired with ice cream! I love that you have dare teas!

gmathis

Okay, I am going to have to try the ice cream thing. We have some Blue Bunny Wedding Cake in the freezer and I need an excuse anyway!

I believe this is the best lemon-lavender blend I have tried in recent memory. Sometimes blenders over-lavender, which makes your cup too perfumey and astringent. This was thirst-quenchingly juicy and led with the lemon rather than the flower. Very nice, very relaxing.

Had it not been for the lovely and talented Nichole, I wouldn’t know about Wise Ape Tea. I do now. I don’t know that Blueberry Time Machine added any time to a busy day of household drudgery, but it was a nice little refresher between chores. The berry flavor was authentic without being tart and the green tea/moringa just added a little crispness. Nice!

Parenthetically, it did steep up kind of a funky mucky color…not butterfly pea flower blue; kind of pond water blue and green. But it wasn’t offputting.

Honestly, I love both name of tea as well the vendor name. Good to know they do nice teas as well!

Um… well, hello everyone. Long time no post. My life took quite a dramatic turn several years ago as I went back to work after being a stay at home parent for fifteen years. Needless to say, it took a lot of adjusting. Thankfully I love my job, and it’s allowed me to continue my education which has always been important to me. That said, raising kids, work, and studying pushed everything else out of the way for awhile. But I missed this lovely place and people! I actually logged in last night to find the name of a tea I couldn’t remember (Moorish Mint by Samovar), and it made me smile. Anything that makes me happy during these crazy times is a keeper!

Ok, tea note… I cold brewed this and am enjoying it. Coconut is the main flavor, but the vanilla and cinnamon enhance the overall flavor and experience. I can smell the turmeric, but I don’t taste it, and I like the hit of black pepper. Not sure if I’ll ever drink this hot since it’s so delicious cold.

Welcome back, Veronica! I am glad you have a job you love. It makes such a difference!

Veronica

It does make a difference. The job I have now is the complete opposite of what I went to school for, so it was overwhelming at first but so, so worth it.

And thanks for the welcome. I feel like I showed up in the middle of a hurricane with the selling of Steepster to Adagio. Hopefully they listen to y’all. This is a special place, and it deserves to remain that way.

Chocolate Hustle is the perfect combination of delicious flavored tea and adaptogenic herbs. The flavor is a nice roasty Yerba mate with beautiful chocolate undertones and a nice hint of mint. What’s even better than the flavor is the way this tea makes me feel. Nice smooth consistent energy to keep me going throughout my day, and a noticeable increase in focus throughout my work day. Would highly recommend to anybody who loves tea !

I may be a bit biased, but I have to say this tea is a fantastic alternative to the morning/afternoon coffee. The mild amount of caffeine combined with the specially selected adaptogenic herbs create a balanced energy boost with increased focus.

The earthy and roasty flavor is complimented by subtle hints of chocolate notes with a mild minty finish. If you’re looking for a bold tea with balance, this might be perfect for your collection.

Try it silverback (bulletproof) style for an added punch of creamy flavor and brain boosting focus. Silverback (bulletproof) is when you simply blend in healthy fats such as grass-fed butter and coconut oil. Truly delicious.

I’ve had this tea every morning for a week, bulletproof-style. THIS IS THE PERFECT BULLETPROOF TEA.

Phew. Now that that’s out of the way…

Seriously, I love this stuff. It’s okay on its own, but not amazeballs. A hint of cacao and mint, yes. No real strong mate taste (a plus in my books), a touch of the tulsi, can’t taste the ashwanghanda (not spelling that correctly, I know). A little sweet from the stevia…. I still needed to add more.

BUT AS BULLETPROOF – this stuff bloody well shines. OMG. I can’t get enough of it, and I’ll run out soon.

Bulletproof just means you’re blending the hot tea with coconut oil and/or grass fed butter, and then drinking it as you would a latte. (Trust me, this is WAY better than any latte you’ve ever had). Folks into noortropics, keto, or performance athletes drink this sort of thing. Lots of reasons why, won’t go into it here, but let’s just say this.

IT MAKES AWESOME BULLETPROOF TEA.

Try it.
