I’m not sure I needed to know this……
Might need to go and take a look tomorrow…..
i’m trying to restrain myself.
I might just pop in on the way home from work and get it over with. We only have a small store here, they might not be carrying it, but will have to go and take a look.
It’s true, they are available – limited flavors, pretty expensive but I bought 4 tins of tea on the way home from work.
I picked up: Fortnum & Mason – Breakfast Blend
and Mariage Frères – Bolèro, Chandernagor, and Marco Polo. Thanks for the heads up Sil.
whoohoo! that’s exciting. I’m trying to limit myself unless i split with terri or cavo since the tins are so big…I hate large volumes, even if it is MF heh
Thank you so much for posting this! I plan on visiting the one in Vancouver early this week.
NP. they’re a little on the expensive side but for those of us who won’t be getting to France any time, not a bad find :)
Sweet, I’ll have to check out the Vancouver store when I get a chance to go to the coast.
The Vancouver BC Holt Renfrew has them upstairs in the gift section, right by the mall entrance. :)
I, uhh, got sucked into the madness.
Lol. I did too. I just grabbed some MF Plein Lune, Casablanca, Bolero and Esprit de Noel.
Did they have pleine lune in loose tea or just the sachets?
Just the sachets unfortunately, and I really wanted it so I grabbed them.
Oh, I didn’t see the Esprit de Noel. I’ll have to go back at some point before Christmad. :)
I’m trying to figure out if it’s Noel (already posted on here) or Esprit de Noel (posted on my package). The ingredients look the same to me.
I really went through it all; it was a bit hidden away on the far side where people weren’t walking. I did manage to forget to grab their version of chai though, so I’ll definitely have to go back too.
Sil, did you want some of the sachets, or were you looking only for the loose?
I have their chai. I’d totally be willing to swap a bit (whee local swaps!) if you didn’t want 100g right away. It’s quite nice, imo.
Noel is esprit de noël.
I appreciate the offer missB but I will pass.i can pick sachets up here if I get desperate haha. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss any loose versions :)
Definitely swap time, OMGsrsly! :)
Sil, good to know. I was told they were getting in more before the holidays, so I’m hoping there will be some more loose tea options, too.
For those in Toronto and other locations that have a Balzac’s Cafe ( Stratford, Kitchener etc). They sell both loose and sacheted MF teas. They don’t sell them online yet.. but according to a message I received they have had numerous requests to do so and may do so in the future. Bonus is they are much more affordable than the ones at Holt’s. This is a reply I got from them. I was looking for Pleine Lune.
‘In the meantime, you can definitely purchase both the tins of loose leaf tea and the tea sachets at any of our cafes. The tins cost $18.50 + tax for 100g of loose leaf tea, and the boxes are $21.50 for 20 sachets. We stock the following varieties: Orange Pekoe Ceylan, French Breakfast, Earl Grey, Fuji Yama Green Tea, Marco Polo, Chandernagor, and Bourbon Vanilla Rooibos. Unfortunately we do not stock the Pleine Lune variety. I’d recommend calling your local cafe ahead of time to ensure that they have the ones you’d like in-stock, just to be sure, as they do sometimes sell out.’
Balzac’s website is
www.balzacs.com
Thanks for the reminder! I always forget about this – usually because they don’t have the teas i want. :) But good to remember, especially since there’s one at the reference library by work :)
I grew up near there! Jesse Ketchum was my second school.
Nice! I found their shipping reasonable too. Maybe I’ll send them a note to see when/if they’ll be shipping teas on their website as well.
I don’t think I can handle this. I just can’t. yyz, is balzack’s carrying f and m as well? or just mf?
Just Mariage Freres. You can find Fauchon, if there’s any left, at Winners/Home Sense right now.
