Butiki Teas: Mystery Teas Revealed!!! Herbs & Spices?
Hello Friends! Just wanted to say that we really truly appreciate the support that we have received from the Steepster Community. Over the years this community has helped us grow and improve our teas through the feedback we received. We were able to chat with and make friends with people all over the world and from different walks of life. We also received so many interesting ideas, some of which we were able to make a reality. Thank you all so very much!
We will have limited communication for the next 8 days. Please be aware that we may not be able to respond to emails at this time. We will be sure to answer emails and resolve any pending issues after the next 8 days.
Since most people seem to be interested in guessing these two teas, let’s turn this into a game. I’m not sure if we have any prizes left to give but if you would like to do this for fun, please send your guesses to [email protected]. Mystery Tea #1 has: 1 tea & 5 flavorings. Mystery Tea #2 has: 1 tea & 3 flavorings. You can list the flavorings in order from most amounts used to least amount used and don’t forget to mention which tea we picked. In 2 weeks (we have some international customers who bought them) we will announce who came the closest. I think the first tea will be the trickiest. How good are you at picking out flavors?
As our way of thanking this awesome community, we will be doing a contest in about a week for some teaware that we have left. Nothing too involved, just a small contest. Also, we have enough samples left to do another Educational TTB. For more info on what we did with the last Educational TTB, check this thread: http://steepster.com/discuss/7310-traveling-butiki-educational-box Also, we do have a lot of herbal ingredients left. I thought it might be fun to do a Blending box. This will have things like marshmallow leaf, orange peel, cinnamon chips, smoked Hawaiian Sea Salt, Safflower, lime leaves, vanilla, Hops, etc. This is for people who might like to try blending an herbal or even adding some spices or peels to their teas. Marzipan will be running these boxes if there is enough interest. There will be more info about this in a few weeks (since I might not have internet access in the next 8 days).
BUTIKI TEAS IS CLOSING PERMANENTLY
I really want to thank everyone for their loyalty and kindness throughout the years. The best part of my job is you, our customers. Thank you so much for making us a huge success. When I first started this company, my husband asked me to come up with a goal of how much in sales we could ever dream of making in a year. Well, thanks to you all, we have quadrupled that number! I would have never imagined we would have become this successful and I am so grateful to all of my customers for making us what we are today. Thank you so very much.
You may be wondering why we are closing after more than 6 years of success and the simple answer is that it is time for me to move on to a new adventure. I’ve decided that I would like to focus on myself a little more and enjoy more quality time with my family and friends and possibly even a capybara (if I’m that lucky). This was such a difficult decision for me to make but it is the right decision. I’m a bit teary writing this, so let’s end on a positive vibe.
We are considering this more to be a going away party rather than a somber closing. Along the way, we expect to have some freebies, contests, and even a few new teas (we still have a few new flavorings!). We would like to think of this ending as a celebration of everything that Butiki Teas was. Please feel free to share with us some farewell thoughts. We would love to add some to our website or just hear your thoughts.
Purchasing From Us
Since we are closing for personal reasons and not due to financial issues, we will remain open as long as it takes to clear out our inventory. We are not sure how long this will take though we suspect several months, but are unsure how this announcement will affect our sales. Some of our teas have enough to last up to 9 months under normal circumstances, while other teas will be finished within days.
We will not be offering any free samples at this time.
All teawares and accessories are 15% off. Discount will be refunded at time of shipping. Please keep in mind that all Canadian & International orders for teawares will have their shipping charges assessed after purchase. Please email us if you would like a shipping quote. We will not be closing our LLC until months after we have sold the remaining inventory if we do in fact close it at all. I want to ensure our customers that we will still provide a high level of customer service and deal with any issues immediately.
Please note that orders may take up to 1 week to ship.
Since we anticipate running out of stock of teas, we will ship what we have in stock. Any teas that are out of stock will be refunded from your order. If you would like to be notified of a tea running out before we ship, please let us know and make sure to provide us with an email address that is frequently checked.
Keep an eye on our sale page for contests, freebies, and special sales!

We are all having a big sad meltdown about it on Steepster chat Stacy! We will miss you!
Wishing you much luck and happiness in the future though <3
wow….you taught me loads about tea, as you were my first upscale retailer I purchased from….you will be missed…..and so will congou keemun and crimson horizon, both stapes in my tea cabinet!
Oh man. Like donkeytiara you were one of the first tea retailers I bought from. I have loved so many of your teas and I get really excited when I can place an order. You will definitely be missed.
OMG Stacy! I’m in shock! I’ve really loved your teas and your amazing service. You will be missed!! Good luck with everything!!
NOOOOOO! Im shocked to find this! Im going to miss you!
I’ll miss your tea, I’ve not had time to try everything I wanted.
Thanks. Well, there is still plenty of time. We expect to be open a good 3-4 month more. Plus there will be 7-8 new teas. :)
What sad news to wake up to. I’m sure the Steepster community as a collective is devastated; your teas have taught so many of us so much.
I notice you don’t have Lychee Oolong up on the site? Does that mean you’re already out and it’s too late to stock up on that one?
I’m glad our teas have helped teach others. :)
I pulled the Lychee Oolong, since we were super low and it’s my husband’s favorite. Though, I still do have 2 bagged half ounces. If you would like them, let me know.
Devastating! Terrible! Very very sad! I will miss one of the best tea shops and its amazing teas.
Will the guayusas be available for a while, as well as the guayusa sampler?
Thank you, Tea Sipper!
We just placed a huge guayusa order, so I think you should be pretty good with that. We are keeping the guayusa sampler as long as the guayusas are around.
Looks like I have a while then. I also noticed the Ruby Pie isn’t on the site…
Then I am very happy I recently received an order with Ruby Pie! But I will miss it!
I loved that you picked through all the teas for us and just sold the best and most unique…it helped me learn so quickly!
FYI, Taiwanese Wild Mountain Black is out. We had very little left to begin with, so I knew it would be gone quick.
Also, looks like a lot of customers will be eligible for our first contest. :)
