New Tasting Notes
On this 2nd steeping of 3 min, the leaves released some sweetness, with smoky undertones. I finished the cup without adding anything. Next time I do a first steep of this tea, it will be only 1 min, so it will be less harsh. As I learn how better to handle it and my palate develops, this tea might still get a thumbs up!
After several attempts to have the Tevana guy give me a rooibos that wasn’t sweet we landed here. It smelled really awesome, coconut and almond, but I was worried it would be too tropical and fruity. Actually it was sort of spicy due to the ginger and cinnamon and there was not a lot of fruit tang. Win!
A big mug of this to start my Monday morning. I’m not too keen on black teas but I can tolerate this one because of the strawberry flavoring. Now that I think of it, most of the black teas I do drink have some flavor to them. I taste the strawberry more in the aftertaste which is fine. I let it steep for 5 minutes when I normally do 4, so it is slightly stronger than I like.
