drank Masala Chai by Teavana

Bought this over the weekend and really loved it. Here’s why… It doesn’t have that “medicine-y” or astringent taste some other chai mixes seem to have. It’s sweet, it’s cinnamon, it’s rich and most importantly, I can actually TASTE the black tea in it. I guess that’s typically my beef with chai, you can taste the STUFF, but not the tea. This is a great TEA that is flavored perfectly.

One of the best chai teas around.

Finished out my two ounce bag today. Got a lot of floaties through the filter. Still not my favorite tea, but enjoyable when I feel like sipping lightly fruity perfumed water. haha

Tasting this again today and REALLY DIGGING IT with a teaspoon of sugar added in an 11 ounce steep. Wow, the spice meshes well with the sweetness.

drank Almond Biscotti by Teavana

Okay, the smell of this one SOLD me at Teavana. Those sneaky salesmen are pretty intense in OKC. Geez… Anywho…

I brewed this bad boy up and found that I’m just not a huge fan almond in tea. There is a dough taste, an almond cookie (duh) taste that is just too watered down to really be enjoyable. Side note, I took this with sugar only, no milk

This tea will taste fantastic with cream and more sugar, I used 1/2 a teaspoon for eight ounces. This review is, however, only covering water and light sugar.

So, in my opinion… This tea needs to be richer, a deeper black tea would have suited the other components quite a bit.

drank Citron Oolong by Rishi Tea

Nice clean taste, not soapy but floral and fresh. The citrus smell is stronger than the citrus taste though. The blossoms add floral notes in the finish.

This is a tea to smell and drink at the same time. It gives a great throat coat on these cold icky days.

drank Blood Orange by Tea Drops

I love the hibiscus in this tea, gives the blood orange rinds a great tangy taste. I’ve noticed that it picks up the “flavors” your water might have very easily. Make sure to use filtered HOT water on this one.

drank Lichee Red by Tea Drops

This is probably the best cup of tea I’ve ever had. I enjoy the fermented taste of the lychee and the nice richness and body of the black tea. It is strong, so caution on the steeping with this one. This has a PERMANENT place on my shelf.

This is a very exciting tea with A LOT going on with it. Strong lemon flavor with a raspberry undertone. Gives a nice even caffeine kick. Pair this with the Himalayan Black from Teavana for some extra goodness.
