576 Tasting Notes
If you like coconut, you’ll LOVE this tea. The coconut flavor is strong and sweet – like a tropical vacation. The strong oolong base doesn’t mask or hinder the coconut flavor. On the flip side, the coconut is overpowering but the oolong base holds its own. Overall this is a great tea, naturally sweet and abundantly fragrant. Delish!
I’m drinking this again – it’s one of my cupboard staples.
2nd infusion, still wonderful. I love the fruit & floral marriage; it’s total bliss.
Interesting. Does it have actual orchid in it?
yep! I removed the tea bag (filter) to resteep and it stained the bowl pink & purple. It’s really a unique tea. I can’t get enough. :)
O= Indeed. I think this is the first tea I’ve heard of with real orchids. Usually it’s just another name like big red robe or snow blossom.
This is a pleasant tea – if steeped correctly, that is! Don’t let it brew for longer than 3 mins, unless you like a tart tea. (I prefer spice over tart.)
One of my favorite combos is plum and/or berries with cinnamon. I created my own blend last year using the old Plum Harvest from Teavana and adding my own medley of spices. I’ve since run out and am on the hunt for a comparable replacement.
I enjoy this tea in the afternoon as it is caffeine free. Although today, at 11 a.m. I needed a pick-me-up and tried it… now I feel a bit sleepy, so my bad!
Back to the tea – I have not been let down at Harney & Sons, but I feel this needs a bit more cinnamon to match the tartness of the plum. Overall this is a nice tisane. My mom, who can’t drink caffeine in large quantities, loves brewing this up throughout the day.
Preparation
I drink this everyday. I start my workday off with at least one infusion, sometimes two. This is the one tea bag I leave for the entire length of the cuppa, and I love every spicy drop. This is a staple in my tea cupboard at home and at work. I’ve never found a comparable one, but am always willing to try if you have any suggestions! :)
First off, I haven’t tried any other of these types of pearls from other companies. So I can’t make an honest comparison between Adagio’s pearls and others. That being said, this is one tea I cannot and will not live without! I love the smoky, strong flavor with the hint of cocoa. So yummy – perfect when I’m not motivated to make an executive decision on what tea to drink next, and even better as an AM wake up call. I also like to use it as a base and add peppermint or spearmint or cinnamon or other teas. The possibilities are endless!
This is one of the first teas I tried from Adagio, and I was in love at first sip. Disclaimer: Gunpowder green tea is one of my fave teas of all time, so I am completely biased in any and all reviews re: Gunpowder green.
The gunpowder flavor, mixed with a subtle hint of Darjeeling, offers up a smoky flavor in the aftertaste. I actually added a bit more peppermint, but I enjoy stronger, spicier teas. (And my peppermint may have been fresher…no offense, just sayin’.)
Overall, this is a great blend for beginners to loose tea and for gunpowder fans. If you prefer stronger, blacker teas with lots of fruity flavors, I’d bypass this one. :P
I like Gunpowder and Darjeeling, the idea of a blend is very appealing!

This works pretty well although lately I’ve opted for the infuser bags Adagio sells for $3 each.
The design is the same as others (like Teavana) but with a budget-friendly price. My favorite feature of this infuser is that it is microwave and dishwasher safe. I hate picking the little leaves teas like rooibos leave behind in the mesh strainer component. So while I wash the infuser thoroughly, I love that I can pop it in the dishwasher and get it really clean. Ricky pointed out that the scent of your last brewed tea is left behind, but after using the dishwasher I find the scent is gone.
While I wouldn’t try to brew teas in the microwave, it’s a nice touch that this is safe for microwave use. If I need to reheat, it’s easy. Me likey.
I rarely drink a cuppa the same tea twice in a row so I would have to constantly strain and dump out leaves…it gets to be a hassle to use. Instead I opt for the biodegradable infuser bags. Much easier for a tea chameleon like me! :P
What a refreshing tea! I love this hot or iced; although lately I opt for hot teas since it’s winter and freezing outside. I love the medley of flavors – fruity pear and apple, flowery hibiscus and rose petals, plus a light touch of the oolong base tea. However, don’t let it steep too long or you’ll be looking at one bitter tea. (I learned this the hard way and hope to save others from that bitterness!) I have to admit this is the first pear tea I’ve ever tried, and while I don’t like the high price of Teavana, I’ll come back for more of this truly tasty pear-adise! :)

I’m surprised by the reviews on this one! However, I am typically NOT an Earl Grey fan, and maybe that distinction yields my appeased tastebuds. Overall, I love the combination of creamy vanilla and citrusy bergamot. A friend of mine who adores Earl Grey can’t stand it – she says the medley is too unlike Earl Grey to take it seriously. And I think that’s why I like it! :) I also added a bit of Splenda (two packets) because the bergamot flavor was too strong for me at first.
I’m a huge fan of anything cinnamon and love the original black tea version of this hot and sexy tea. However, since I typically enjoy green teas more I purchased this – and I’m not too proud to admit I ran out the sample within one day! This is a great alternative to the spicy original; I change up my morning brews every so often and added this into the rotation. YUM!
