It’s a snap

Everyone seems to be talking about the benefits of turmeric these days. But it’s not just a trendy new ingredient – it’s been around for hundreds of years as a traditional Indian remedy. According to ayurvedic belief, turmeric is said to warm the body and balance out an excess of kapha. And its signature bright yellow colour is pretty hard to miss. In this invigorating rooibos blend, we pair it with spicy ginger, sweet licorice and tangy lemongrass. Cheers – to your good health! (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Organic: rooibos, lemongrass, orange peel, ginger, licorice root, turmeric, lemon myrtle, osmanthus blossoms.

I ’ve tired several cups of this before I decided to review it. It is too strong when you use the recommended 1.5 tsp. But even when it was weaker, it was still to tumeric-y. I think if the the other strong flavours ( ginger and orange peel) were stronger, it would be more balanced.

This is one strange tea. It smells bright and refreshing and not sickly lemon or cleaner lemon, but like real lemons! The color is so happy too.

On the advice of the sales girl, I brewed it in a T-sac and a dark mug to avoid staining. I added a little raw honey to taste. While its brewing, the smell mellows out considerably and smells kind of like Indian cooking. Nonetheless, I took a leap of faith and drank some!

YUM. The lemon taste from the dry leaves really pops out and it tastes refreshing and energizing even though it’s rooibos! It has a little aftertaste of cooking still but it’s really good.

Second steep… not so great… it REALLY tastes like cooking now BLECH.

It’s a great tea and its worth trying but I can’t imagine repurchasing it unless its for health reasons.

Tastes healthy and bright. Great orangy colour from the turmeric. Nice ginger taste but also not overwhelming or bitter. Highly recommend this one.
