When I steeped this, it made my whole downstairs some like strawberry compote. Unfortunately, I’d say this tea has a bit too much moringa in it. The sweet strawberry is there, but so is that savory, herbaceous moringa, and it’s just not what I’m looking for in a tea. This is another one where I enjoyed the initial tea bag sample I had, but didn’t love the 2 oz I subsequently bought. I finished it, but would not order it again. I would, however, order a strawberry tea without the moringa from them!

I purchased this tea over the summer for iced tea, mostly for my husband who lokes berry flavors. It tastes very good iced and I have been drinking my “iced teas” as hot lately before bed in attempts to clear the tea cabinet a bit. Surprisingly, I have been enjoying them hot; I didnt think I would. Hmm what is moringa? Have to look that up.

I did not particularly enjoy this tea, perhaps because I tried it iced instead of hot. I couldn’t quite pinpoint the taste that I did not like, but there was only one thing it reminded me and it wasn’t a good memory. I would try it again hot but definitely not again cold.

Sipdown! I finished off a tin of this with a nice big pitcher of cold brew. I didn’t like it quite as much as when I first tried it, and I’m kind of happy for it to be gone. The earthiness of the moringa really seemed to be butting heads with the strawberry.

Cold brew sipdown (203)

I enjoy the strawberry candy flavor of this a lot but that herby/earthy quality for the moringa just ruins it for me.

Basically with you on this one – admittedly, it’s hard to make moringa taste good though. Not a pleasant herb on its own, for sure.

VariaTEA

It smelled so good. I had high hopes but that damn herb quality was just so crappy

2021 Sipdown 57/365!
(DavidsTea 138)

Really into this one iced – it’s kind of a unique flavour with the moringa (and honestly, strawberry without heavy hibiscus is unique too!), and not particularly sweet, which makes it very refreshing. I brought some, frozen, on a recent camping trip and it was quite a treat. Still agree with my previous idea that it would taste fantastic mixed with a good quality green, to get some of that flavour profile in.

gmathis

Ooh, this sounds really nice for summer!

Kittenna

It is! It’s just so refreshing and flavourful, not just all sugar/stevia.

Another new tea from the recent “Superfood” collection.

Obviously the moringa in this is the superfood element; we’ve seen it before in other DT blends (Moringa Mermaid) so I think it’s good that this version of a moringa tea is so drastically different. I’m not personally a fan of this; I find the flavour profile very simplistic and it’s one that I’m not a huge fan of; very tart and full bodied strawberry notes with plenty of hibiscus – sort of like Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait. The interesting part of this blend, for me anyway, is the hint of herbaceous and vegetal moringa in the finish – it adds a crisp and clean finishing note to the tea that is very refreshing when you’re drinking it iced, and this is clearly the kind of profile that will shine as an iced blend…

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

Kittenna

Ah, I thought this was a older tea, so thanks for clearing it up! I think I was remembering Moringa Mermaid.
