I actually steeped this stovetop method this evening… something I almost never do because I hate the mess, but, for whatever reason, I wanted to make a mess today, so I did.

So GOOD. I don’t know if I prefer it stovetop or my tried and true method of steeping extra strong in water and then adding milk, both result in a delicious cuppa. This method also results in mess though… which is a big negative unless I am in one of these weird moods where I feel like making a mess… then, I guess it’s all good.

Anyways, I don’t know that I notice any significant difference between brewing this way and brewing the way I usually do, except that the flavor and texture is creamier. Thicker. But, other than that, both methods produce a very delicious tea. Rich black tea base, sweet vanilla and robust spices! YUM! And perfect on this chilly evening.

Decent.

As many of you know I drink EVERYTHING Plain…even chai. This was a good one…

My husband actually tried it too…he always adds sugar to everything – when he does drink tea…this is the first chai he’s tried (obviously not as into teas as I am! LOL) I added a splash of milk and T Sugar for his…he liked it.

Teaman

Wow you are hard core… no sweetener. I do that for some greens and whites and once in a blue moon (ohh and we just had one last night) I will go without in oolong. But I like tea sweetened by in large but rarely with sugar. Don’t need the tooth issues and rise then crash and burn of a sugar high blood level. I use Splenda and Stevia independently or together. Maybe it’s a man thing. LOL.

Brendon Batchelder

99% of the time I have everything plain as well, occasionally I will have some lemon juice, or peppermint, but NEVER sugar or milk/cream, it ruins the flavor in my opinion

Cofftea

@Brendon Batchelder- I drink my chai both plain and w/ milk, never sweetener. Sometimes I just want a spiced tea, no milky texture. I love my chai teas, but I think the worst thing is when it’s got too little milk in it so it tastes like water logged slightly spiced milk.

Cofftea

Teaman, what’s the purpose of using splenda and stevia together?

TeaEqualsBliss

@ Teaman…yup pretty much go plain to taste the natural flavors of everything that and I was raised that way! LOL

TeaEqualsBliss

Oddly – when I drink coffee which is rare I put sugar and cream in it! LOL
