Yiwu Puqinghao Old Tree Puerh Cake (易武普庆号古树生饼)
Another rare find in our 2011 Spring tea trip. It is interesting to know that a 2003 Puqing Hao Tea cake costs 800 RMB (over $ 120) in China.

The tea cake was made of wild arbor tea leaves harvested in the Fall from Yiwu mountain, considering it a truly authentic rare and unique Pu-erh tea. It went into aging in a true dry storage in Yunnan, it delivered a taste of a good semi-aged Pu-erh that was in its adolescent age.

The brewed soup is orange red, it tastes so mild and so sweet, it is simply phenomenal.

This is a relatively nice tea. It has clearly been dry stored judging by the color of the tea which was a dark yellow except for the third steep which was darker. It is fairly mellow and a little bit sweet with no bitterness to speak of. It is a good puerh but by no means spectacular.

I steeped this nine times in a 70ml teapot with 4.2g leaf and 200 degree water. I gave it a 10 second rinse. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, 30 sec, and 45 sec.
