Good balance of tea and sweetness.

This is my first and only matcha but I will say, I like how it’s sweet but still lets the green tea come through. Good for when you want something sweet, something quick, or something a little different. Beautiful deep green color. I don’t own a whisk but if you pour it from a bit of a height, you can get a pretty good froth on top. It’s good for cooking as well although I haven’t gotten a chance to do that yet.

My first try with matcha at home after falling in love with a matcha latte on vacation. Made it with 8 oz of cold milk, gave it a whirl with my ikea whirlygigamabob and voila! In a word, delish!

One of my favorite teas. I can’t drink matcha without any sweetener yet so the sweet matcha is my tea of choice right now. I don’t drink coffee and I find that matcha gives me the energy without the jitteriness you can get from coffee. Plus, I just feel better when I have it.

My recipe is 2 cups soy milk (other milks, dairy and non, overpower the taste of matcha) to 2 tablespoons of Sweet Matcha, mixed with a frother or a chasen, microwaved for 4 mins, 15 secs, another whisking and I’m ready to go.

It has a slight grassy and creamy smell which also shows up in the taste. It’s a nice bright cup. I’ve had people who don’t like tea or soy milk try it and like it.

I prepared this tea with a whisk and bowl as I had for my matcha from last week, but I used a different bowl with a designated face. I turned the bowl three times in my palm to admire it, and I was surprised by how much more enriching this made the experience. Really taking in the sight of the bowl and tea as one was picturesque and made me feel like time had slowed down just for me to enjoy my tea.
Unfortunately, this was where the pleasantness came to an end. The color of the tea was an army green with a gray undertone. I was excited to try a sweet matcha to compare with last week’s, and I am not I fan. It was overwhelmingly sweet with a synthetic earthy aftertaste. It didn’t have scent, and did not foam up as much as I would have liked.

this matcha’s really good. yes, there is some grassiness present but it is yummy & creamy thanks to the added sugarcane :D

the powder is a bright verdant green, bright like Red Leaf’s matcha, much brighter than Republic of Tea’s. the only thing is, it produces a much thinner liquor than normal for a matcha (and less froth!), so i used less water and needed only a touch of soy milk in order to enjoy it like i normally do.

with Republic of tea’s matcha, i use a lot more sugar & need plenty of milk to get it to a shade of ‘sage latte’ as the liquor is a thick dark green producing a lot of froth. it’s also a lot more chalky and bitter.

in contrast, this Sweet Matcha by Rishi is very pleasant and smooth, and i would recommend it to any matcha newcomer! i myself love it and find it to be very similar to the Starbucks green tea latte.

This tea is pretty accurately described by most of the reviews here. It has a lot of preloaded sugar, so get this if you like your matcha sweet.

The price was modest due to it being mixed with quite a bit of sugar. The downside is that the amount of matcha powder you get is ultimately somewhat small since it takes a tablespoon of it to make an 8 ounce drink. You won’t be making more than 5-10 drinks out of this, but it sure beats paying five bucks a drink at the coffee shop.

The flavor is very grassy and vegetal, no bitterness at all, really a very lovely matcha. I drank two tumblers full just as soon as I had brought it home. The only downside is, as other reviewers have mentioned, this comes with quite a bit of sugar. It’s not overpowering to me, but if you want to strengthen the tea flavor the sweetness will become too much. I’d settle for a little less sugar premixed in because you could always add more sugar yourself, but you can’t take any away. So far though, I mostly use matcha for matcha lattes and prefer mine a little on the sweet side and with a moderate tea flavor, so this works well for me. This matcha blends very easily and does not settle on the bottom of the cup clump up like some other matchas do. It also mixes just as easily cold as it does hot.

I grabbed a bit of this from the bulk section in Whole Foods and it has been kicking around for a while until today. My sinuses are a bit stuffy, so I’m not tasting as well as normal, but I got ZERO matcha flavor from this. When they say sweet, they mean it and sweet is about all I got from this. It seems more like a matcha with training wheels or arm floaties to get you to step into the matcha water. It just doesn’t do it for me.

I wanted a matcha and I found this one. At first I was disappointed that it was sweetened already, but I ended up really liking it.

Too sweet to drink with just water. I mix it in with my oatmeal. Gives me a nice morning buzz.
