From Zhi Tea

Ingredients: Green Rooibos*, ginger*, lemongrass*, lemon myrtle*, licorice root*, with lime and tangerine essential oils
(*Organic)

Zesty and uplifting, this blend is a caffeine-free super-antioxidant treat. Instead of red or fermented rooibos, we use green raw rooibos along with ginger pieces and lime. This is ultra-refreshing as well as being super healthy. Very clean and uplifting with a good ginger hit and cooling lime.

This blend has also proven to be a popular hit as an iced tea. Very cooling and refreshing.

Water: 208°F | 2 tsp per 12 ounce cup | Infusion Time: 6 minutes

Sipdown! (36 | 488)

This is an interesting one.

It does have a sort of ginger ale or maybe even cola flavor to it. The lime pairs nicely as well, giving it a Moscow Mule kind of feel.

But to me, the ginger is a bit too strong, and this last mug is especially spicy. Also I’m not a fan of the cloying licorice root aftertaste. I bet this would be super interesting as an iced tea though…

Dry this smells intensely of lime. Hot it is lime, lemon, and ginger. Once it cools it becomes more ginger, lemon/lime. The ginger packs some heat. I still don’t know what green rooibos tastes like. It seems to fill in all the flavor voids in the cup. I think I most detect it as a sweet grassy aftertaste. There is licorice root in this. It only adds a tiny amount of sweetness. Halfway through the cup I added a little sweetener to see how it would react. No problem, though it added nothing but sweetness. It is not something I would drink much of, but I can see this being fun for fans of lime and ginger.
