13 Tasting Notes

Hand Picked Autumn Tieguanyin (2011) from Verdant Tea

i’m very sad because i broken my first yixing pot that i had dedicated to black (laoshan black in particular).
if someone know how to fix it ….
so today i decided to try out this tea,
i don’t like green or green oloong tea but i read so wonderfoul things about this
so i decided to give it a try.

i brewed it occidental style in glass teapot 5 gr for one mug of water
3 min step 95 degree

1 step i recognize immediatly that this is a quality tea… have a strong green taste
sort of vegetables light infuse. this don’t drive me crazy…

2 step better more sweet more buttery less vegetables.i recognize the saffron mentioned
in description. Astringent.

3 step more or less like the 2 a little bit more of astringency

finally this is a good tea absolutely,
i like it more than the other tea of this kind i ever tried.
but…. this is not my type of tea.
this is the reason i don’t wanna rate it.
I fell the complexity but i can’t judge something i don’t understand at all.

BTW i want try it also in gaywan.
gonfu is more “respectful” for this tea, hoping tea pay me back. :)

yi ji hong dan cong (first class dark dan cong) 2010 from teaway
97

something in the middle of
dan cong and red chinese tea
very fruity for a red chinese tea and very strong for a dan cong.
but i love this mix
i come back at home from a the first bbq of the season …. and i had eat and drunk too much.
wen i was at home i think that i really need something strong ( i mean strong in flavour and caffeine) and i brewed this sample of tasting kit dan cong.
i brewed in my little gaiwan about 4 grams of it ( in the stepping instruction say 25 grams per litre)

1 step delicious sweet fruity and a little malty the liquor is a nice red ruby
i steeped for 20 second.

2 step for 30 second the same

adding a 10 second to every step i had 9 step of this tea and this tea don’t lose any flavour

now it os one of my favorite and i want to place an order of this
if you love black chinese tea and dan cong this is the tea you don’t wanna miss give it a try!

Silver Buds Yabao from Verdant Tea

it’s weird for me something that i don’t expected..
this don’t look likes tea and don’t taste like tea…
it’s not bad… maybe a little weird for me.
i think i have to taste it another time,
now that i know what is the falvor i wait to be in the mood for taste it.

the tea liquor is light yellow and the tea is butery nutty and when cold down the floreal note comes up!

Shui Xian (Water Sprite) from teaway

tea is great
in the first infusion you can fell the roasty flavour typical of wu yi oloong but the aftertaste is floreal peachy sweet …weird and nice!
in the second and third infusion the roasty go down and you fell more the sweet
now i’m at the 5 infusion and still good.
