Its not insulate, but my all time favorite mug is the grand peacock infuser mug from teavana. The artwork is absolutely beautiful, and it makes the tea taste so much better :)

My new Contigo Autoseal (purchased shortly after spilling a 14 oz. mug of tea into my laptop).

I have several of these and love them. My only problems is the lids sometimes “hold on to” the flvour of some strong teas, like cinnamon. This problem can be solved by washing the lids in a vinegar hot water solution, but I don’t always get around to do that :)

Ouch! Is your laptop OK? I bet preventing laptop spills is a another important consideration. It happened to us as well a few years ago – laptop + beverage + an affectionate Maine Coon cat = oops!

Your Contigo Autoseal sounds like a good solution. Any current good deals?

I get mine at Costco. You can get two for $20.

I spent a considerable amount of time draining, blotting, moaning and waving my hair dryer over the poor soaked laptop until my mate came home from work. He removed the keyboard so I could blot and wave more efficiently and got the thing running again with keyboard commands. (The heat from the motor helped with the drying.) After a day or so everything but the touchpad appeared to be working again, so he disconnected it and we plugged in an external mouse. He has yet to reconnect the touchpad to see if it was permanently damaged, but I’m fine with the mouse. I’m also very grateful for what must have been divine intervention, as I was so freaked out I tried restarting it twice before even thinking about removing the battery! (I am also grateful that the underside of the keyboard is lined with plastic. Someone on HP’s design team must have had a similar experience.)

Now my tea stays tasty and hot in the Contigo, which sits on a tea tray at least a foot away from the laptop when I’m using it.

Two for $20 sounds like a very good deal! I got a 2-pack on Amazon for around $34.

Costco usually has them “on sale” every couple of months. I’m in Canada

We have a Costco here in Houston, but it’s waaay on the other side of town. Both my husband and I are happy so far, though, so I figure the purchase was worth the money I spent. He drinks cold tea; I drink hot — his ice stays frozen; I’ve managed to scald my upper lip at least twice. :(
