Teaware Translation?

I’m hoping someone might be able to help me out. I bought a new gaiwan with a handpainted lotus design. There are some characters on the back and I’d love to know what they mean. Any help would be appreciated!

Here’s the back:

And the front, for my fellow teaware addicts!

That is lovely. Ask one of the Chinese tea companies, perhaps?

That’s a good idea! Thanks!

Since you’d be using it to brew their teas anyway.

Wow, that’s one of the prettiest gaiwan designs ever! (sorry, I don’t know what it says)

I just love anything with a lotus design, but this one stood out to me because of the colors. Some I’ve seen are blue and white only.

Oh yes, these colors are gorgeous. I have a red lotus gaiwan with green leaves from Verdant. I’m not using it anymore since I cracked the saucer ._.

I never use the saucer with my gaiwan. Maybe I should learn that

Have you ever thought of a repair like this?

I don’t have any broken teaware, but I really love the idea of this method!

MzPriss said

OK. THAT? is cool.

SarsyPie said

Right? I admit to thinking about breaking something for the sole purpose of a repair like this. But then I decided that with my natural clumsiness, it’s just going to happen someday anyway. No need to rush. It’ll make a better story if it happens without assistance.

I broke my beautiful red lotus cup from Verdant. I ordered another. I wish I had kept the pieces. It would have been awesome with that repair

I’ve heard of that. I’ll just leave the way it is. I’m not confident in my skills to fix finer porcelain.

EDIT Oh noooooooooooooo not the cup D: I have one of those and love using it.

If you ever change your mind, there are people with skills who will do the repair for you. I think that if I end up breaking something, I will try one of the kits.

MzP: I think I see that in the out of stock section on their site. It’s lovely! Looks hand painted?

It’s really pretty and delicate in real life. Tehy went out of stock and I begged them for one and they had a couple left in their shop and I got to get a couple. I <3 them

Such a pretty gaiwan! I have no idea what it says, but it’s just lovely.

Thanks and that’s ok! I hope someone will come across this and have the answers, but if not, I know I’ll eventually solve the mystery!

This is so pretty! My chinese is pretty limited, but I think the 2 characters on the right are pond and lotus.. although the whole phrase could mean something entirely different haha

Fess up, where’s it from?

Literal translation: temperament of lotus pond :)
