Tastes of Summer

Black Fruit Herbal Blend by Twinings

“Twinings Tastes of Summer Black Tea starts with a selection of our expertly blended black teas and then we add the deliciously juicy flavour of strawberries, oranges, & marigolds. This light tasting tea has a wonderful aroma and refreshing taste. Enjoy black or with a hint of milk.”

Hmm…I steeped this tea for almost five minutes, but even then I didn’t really get a strong sweet taste. It tastes instead like a standard black tea with just enough sweetness to take the bitter edge off—not bad, but not as flavorful as I expected. I’m wondering if my tea bags are a little outdated?

Received a sachet of this in a gift box from a friend. Excellent tea! Sadly, my none of the local grocers stock it, so I have to make a special trip to the imported foods store, where they consider it a ‘specialty’ tea! So delish its almost worth it!

Mmmmmm this is great. I love this tea. It is a flavored black tea that other flavored black teas wish they could be. It’s a great summery fruit taste paired nicely with Twinings’ solid black tea flavor. A great combination and does well with Milk. Some people mentioned it as an iced tea and I bet that is fantastic, I’ve only tried it hot but man it is good. Definitely worth keeping this one always in stock.

My family adores this tea, hot and iced. Alas, it has become very difficult to find in my area in the last year.

I can’t pick out many of the individual flavours in this blend, but it all works nicely together. I had a hard time finding this in stores, so I bought several boxes when I did find it (and it looks like it’s been discontinued again). That’s a shame, because it’s quite different. Good with milk or without as well.

When I noticed this tea was getting harder to find in my area, I bought a couple of boxes. Not too long after that the magic kind of faded and I just don’t love this tea that much any more. I still enjoy it when I’m in the mood for a very “fruity” tea but honestly that’s not very frequently. There’s nothing wrong with this blend, per se, but I think my tastes have just changed over the last couple of years.

I pulled this out today and noticed that I still have quite a bit to get through so I might donate it to work so that I get through it a bit faster than just drinking it all by myself. I accidently steeped it a tad too long, but it didn’t get bitter so that was a nice bonus! This blend definitely makes me think of summer and it’s in the 60s today so it was a good match. :)

Felt like a fruity black tea today, so this was the pick. I was kind of specifically craving cherry, so I probably should’ve gone with Four Red Fruits instead, but this was close enough. Nice summery blend for sure!

Pulled this out to drink today after not having it for a while. The fruit notes are very strong, and it’s quite different from any of the other blends I own. I think I mostly enjoy it for the uniqueness, though, and not really for the specific flavour of the blend. I never crave it but it’s nice whenever I remember to drink it!
