This was a creamy, easy-to-drink, sweet puehr. I really enjoyed it. I agree that it seems dry stored. It has really great mouthfeel with a bit of fruit/citrus to it. There was a decent huigan that popped up. I really enjoyed this, much like the other Farmerleaf puehrs. I am finding them particularly easy to drink and fresh tasting, which is usually what I look for in my young (and young-ish) pu’s.

I’m of the opinion that this tea is fairly light and subtle. It was very nice. Not very challenging to be sure and maybe not quite as tasty as the Miyun from Farmer Leaf but still a good quality leaf. The early steeps were quite light and then it opened up significantly around steep three. I need to take a couple more sessions with this before finalizing my opinion. I definitely get Herbals/greens notes from this tea. Quite pleasant. A good afternoon tea.

This tea is like candy. Sweet and easy to drink. It’s teas like this that make me love young sheng. It definitely has those apricot notes and a smooth, oaty texture. Highly recommended, especially for the price. I split a cake through a group buy on a whim and I am really happy I did so!

This was a nice Dong Ding. I’ve generally been leaning toward more roasted oolongs of late, but my fiance was not feeling great and wanted a greener tea. This fit the bill nicely. A pleasant, sweet tea to drink in these early spring days. This tea hit the spot for me a lot more than the one other tea I’ve tried so far from Ides through their tea club promotion. The leaf quality of the Dong Ding seems pretty high and they steeped well for many steeps. This is pretty good value for what they charge for it.

Unfortunately, I can’t continue my subscription at this time, due to an impending wedding, and the fact that they gave me SO MUCH TEA that I really can’t see myself needing to order any very soon.

I really enjoyed this sheng. Definitely bitter/astringent at the beginning but that ebbs a bit into a lingering sweetness via strong huigan. There is a touch of citrus in the flavor I think with a very nice floral/fruity aroma. The mouthfeel of this tea is awesome. The bitterness works on the saliva glands and really gets things going. It has a thick body and really hit the spot for me this morning. There are also some elements of cooling/herbal sensations from the tea. I’m thinking about getting a cake of this. I think it will be interesting to try over time.

I highly recommend it! Love the aftertaste.

I got a cake. It’s quite different from Scott’s Jinggu cakes. More upfront bitterness and cooling/numbing together, which I like a lot.

Awesome tieguanyin. Very smooth and very warming. It lasts for a very long time gong fu. Definitely got the grain the company mentions in regards to the flavor of the tea as a dominant note but overall it is very balanced. The aroma is outrageous and just makes you want to down cup after cup. Steeped at 209 degrees.

This is an exceptionally smooth sheng in my opinion. Whereas it has a really nice balance of bitterness and sweetness it is lacking in that it doesn’t present many strong flavor notes beyond the bitter and sweet. There are light fruity and floral notes happening. I think this would be nice for someone looking for a lighter sheng.

Wow. This tea is great! My girlfriend asked me if it had honey in it, that’s how much that flavor comes through in this tea. Also has some pleasant mineral quality to it but, boy, I really am blown away by that honey flavor. Delicious. I got a couple good steepings western style. This company has some great oolongs!
