15789 Tasting Notes
This isn’t a bad tea, just not my favourite. There are other apple blends out there that i prefer. I don’t really get the “rose” flavour at all which is fine by me since i tend NOT to like that sort of thing. I’m happy to have tried it at least. Another tea off the list :)
I figured I’d try this as DT has their 1$ straight tea sale happening now. I had hoped for a more complex tea but it’s not to be. This kind of reminds me of your classic “red rose” tea. It’s not quite as bland as that, but it’s also not the rich black tea that I’d hoped for. Happy to have tried it and I wouldn’t turn it down but not what i was looking for.
I so wish there was a David’s Tea near me. I would go there every day! Or at least every work day. :)
It’s funny, now that i’ve had other teas from other companies, DT is one of my “meh” places. IE if i HAVE to go there I will, but I’d prefer other places. :)
You know this blend is 90% Darjeeling, right? Maybe I am misunderstanding you, but that’s not a tea type I’d describe as “rich” anyway, shouldn’t it be lighter?
mmmmmmmm So it’s FRIDAY!!!! And last night my Art piece arrived AND my back ordered cheesecake matcha AND my free tea from the persimmon tree tea AND there’s at least one more package to pick up at the post office which will either be my butiki teas order or my verdant order so yesterday was full of WIN! well apart from everything else that went wrong haha.
I am still loveing this matcha. The black cherry is a really nice fruit base for my morning wake up.
Oh man do i need this today. Sipdown though…and I can’t recall whether I ordered another batch of this from Verdant. If i didnt, then I’m an idiot because i love this chai. Mixed in a bit of their chocolate curiousity blend as well mostly because i don’t love that other blend as much heh.
This is as close as i could get to drinking laoshan black this morning, which is what i REALLY wanted because my order still isnt here.
I so needed this today. Work is a little rough these days as I’m relatively new to the role and everyone on my team has been sent out of the country so I’m holding down the fort on my own here. I really am growing to love this mango matcha in my morning smoothies. Today i added a splash of caramel matcha just to make it a bit sweeter. I drank this in no time flat and now i really wish i had a blender, matcha and milk here at work for another 2 or 3 since i’m falling asleep at my desk heh
AMODA TEA Sampler
So this is one of the 3 teas in the October 2012 Tasting Box from Amoda Tea. I opted to try this one first because I generally dislike floral tea and I’d already had an oolong tonight. Opening this tea bag I was intrigued because it wasn’t overly floral. The citrus cut through the floral notes to leave behind a really nice scent. I was a little more hopeful that I’d like the steeped tea.
Upon steeping the tea, the colour is a really nice mellow gold colour. The scent however, has lost the citrusey notes and smells like a green floral tea :( The taste?
Well given that I dislike floral teas more than i dislike oolongs, I’d say this is a pretty decent tea. lol I likely won’t drink much more of it because of the floral taste, but the citrus in the tea gives it a unique taste, that I’ve never experienced before. There isn’t a heavy aftertaste of flowers either, so that helps. Overall, not a bad little tea.
Sooooo as some of you may know, I am NOT a fan of oolongs. Pekko Teas sent me this as their sample so I am nonethless trying it and will likely pop it into the travelling tea box so that others can enjoy the GENEROUS sample they provided. In that way I’ll be able to help share the wealth and give them back a little something for sending the tea my way.
I am also not rating this tea because of the fact that I generally dislike oolongs and i don’t want that reflected on Pekko teas. The leaves of this oolon are super tightly coiled. As for the taste? It’s an oolong :) There’s not an overwhelming floral taste from this, so that’s good. It’s light and those who enjoy oolongs would probably appreciate this tea. I hope that whomever gets this after me enjoys it!
For a bagged tea this isn’t half bad! The vanilla isn’t overpowering and blends well enough with the nut flavour. I picked this and another up, because until I get around to picking up another brew basket, loose tea is too much of a pain in the ass to deal with at work.
