15694 Tasting Notes
So i’m pretty sure i’ve never had a mulberry unless it was when i was really young. So i can’t really comment on whether or not this tastes like a mulberry. What i can say is that this isan interesting genmaicha. It’s the usual lovely genmaicha flavour that i rather enjoy from 52 teas along with an element of sweet in the forefront of the cup.
mmm yep i like this package better than the one i had. haha VariaTEA’s package had a lot less clove in it and more cardamom which makes me a happy camper. Don’t get me wrong, i enjoy cloves in my chai, but the balance has to be skewed towards less rather than more otherwise it’s just too overpowering.
it’s funny to me that for the longest time i just wasn’t a fan of most jin jun mei’s. Now it seems i’ve started to find a few that i really enjoy – including this one. something about the maltiness of this one is just different from others that i’ve tried. I’m happy it was a sample from the tea festival as i’m not sure i would have picked it out for myself.
Another day….another long drawn out day full of meh. lol Yeah. at least i have tea and things to try courtesy of VariaTEA (even if my cupboard did go from 20 to 80) haha. Love a good cup of this keemun in the morning – nothing too intense about it but better than your average cup of straight black.
I have mixed feelings about this one, such that i’m going to reserve judgement until i have it again. the dry smell is wonderfully pineapple, but the brewed blend seemed a little weak. As i said, will write more when i try it again and reserve judgement until then :)
This one needed to be a little more strawberry for me. While i certainly get the sort of baked good flavour that feels a little the same from AQ2T whether we’re taking crepes, puffs, buns etc… the strength of the strawberry was a little sad. It was much softer than i wanted it to be, which may come from the creaminess factor. I didn’t get much in the way of cilantro, but there was a note there that wasn’t all sweetness and strawberry, so i suspect that was it. AOverall not a bad one :)
Another one from VariaTEA (you can pretty much assume that anything i drink these days is from her unless it’s a straight black). This one is distinctly AQ2T. It’s got that flavour that i associate with the company. Is this coconut? yes! I get the vibe of pastries from this as well, though i’m not certain that i’d call this a coconut cream puff. It is tasty though – so no complaints there. :)
