15737 Tasting Notes
This is an interesting tea. The dry aroma is a little too florally, cough syrup for me, but the tea isn’t too bad. There a sweet cherry flavour here that doesn’t remind me of cough syrup, which is great given the dry aroma. However, after a full cup of this, the taste doesn’t endear itself to me.
mmmmm god i love this tea! It’s bold and sweet and HOLY I NEED MORE! my poor little remaining amount makes me sniffle a little everytime i see it. I certainly get as many resteeps out of this one everytime i make it. Thankfully Stacy will have more in July/Aug.
:)
yeah i stop having it, forget how much i love it…then have some and it’s love at first taste again lol
I still have about 2 ounces of this exquisite tea. Prized for sure! LOVE this tea! (I keep saying this…I know!)
I’m so jealous of you Bonnie! Nt sure what I was thinking when I didn’t pick up more when it was almost gone
Hahaha. I’m jealous of Bonnie. I only have 14 grams left. I’m saving it for 2 gongfu sessions as a special reward.
When I tasted it,I knew it was so special that I rushed over to the tea shop and the guys felt the same way as I did about it. Eric even bought this as his first Butiki Tea. (I bought a half oz.for Joe when I reordered more before it was gone.) Fed my addiction.
So what happens when work gets crazy insanely busy? You forget what you’ve asked for in trade with swaps sometimes. THIS cold beverage was brought to me by Kittenna and when i try it hot, it will be brought to me by courtney haha.
In this particular instance i don’t mind doubling up on my swap receipt because it means i’ve got enough to have this both hot and cold without much fuss AND share a small bit with my other half. He loooves watermelon!
This one cold is pretty delicious! I love how subtle the flavour is without any sense of that artificial watermelon taste that most candies use. I also smiled a bunch this morning when i saw the golden colour of the liquid. It really is pretty. overall? a success cold! I’m hoping the hot version will be just as tasty for an occasional treat from stacy in the summer.
Preparation
Lol, it happens. Like Blueberry Crumble from whatshesaid. I totally forgot that I’d asked for some, and then we went and ordered it. Luckily the reviews were good on it! Likewise, good thing you like Watermelon Xylophone :)
nothing says HELLO WORLD! like a freezing rain storm first thing in the morning. I’ve been up for a while managing more issues with work but finally have two minutes to spare to log a couple of teas i had this morning. I tried this in latte form today because of the weather and it was alright. Still not my favourite because the flavouring is sort of “meh” but it’s not a BAD matcha. There are just others that i would drink first :)
thank you to Scheherazade who let me try some of this in our swap! This one smells like rooibos when it’s in dry form and brewing but once you take a sip of this its full of delicious berry goodness! This is more a red fruit rooibos than blue fruit but overall it’s just a happy fruity goodness time. That is my official stance. and now? now i’m tired. seriously behind in sipdowns but at least i managed a couple today with some steps towards being able to finish a bunch up over the next couple of days..216 and counting, though i think i’m slightly less as i lost track of a few things i suspect.
Preparation
So i’ve discovered…that i can only drink this if i add sugar, which i generally never do. Without the added sweetness to bring the flavours out, this is a like a very boring, bland, icky cup of average not so exciting black tea. Add a wee bit of sweetner and all the flavours that were hiding, come out to play! much better, but i still dislike having to add sugar. Rating bumped up a wee bit.
Preparation
I was seriously considering buying this one just a few hours before you posted, and am very glad I didn’t now!
Thank you! That’s very generous of you, but I think I’ll hold off until I get some teas here I can send to people in return.
If you change your mind, happy to send you some if you drop me a quick pm. If it makes you feel better i can always send you some with a promise that you can send me something in return by the end of the year lol (i’m not fussed about it, i have lots of teas and just like trying new things)
I actually really liked this tea! And I served it to hubby and a friend and they liked it, too. I wonder if it is different tastes or different batch that is making the difference?
Hallieod: if I can get a sample of this to my future skn-in-law by tomorrow he could bring it to N. Ireland and mail it to you, but I don’t know that I will see him before he goes back! I will definitely give him some for you if I see him. He leaves the US Saturday.
Thanks to Ashmanra – I didn’t update here because Sil sent me a PM, but kind of glad I didn’t as it’s fun to see these worldwide tea-related connections! (My younger daughter was born in NC.)
Sil: Great! I won’t get to see him after all. He has been really sick during this visit so they are taking today to do a little touring.
Halliday: that is awesome! My daughter met her beloved when he was an exchange student at her college. She later found out that his uncle who lives in Dublin has come to a town just down the road from us for many years. Where in NC were you?
sipdown!
I decided to cold brew the last of this one the other night to see how it holds up as a cold brew. Overall? Not a bad brew. It’s still to “tea like” for my other half to appreciate it, but I could certainly enjoy this cup hot or cold in the long run. It’s fruity and not terribly floral, thank god! Greeted a sweetness to it as well that is only enhanced with the addition of a little bit of sugar. I’m Happy I got the chance to try this one out!
Preparation
mmm this is tasty…well that’s what i remember thinking but then i got distracted on my conference calls tonight and forgot to pay more attention to it. I picked this up in my swap with Scheherazade and i still have a bit mroe to have again so better tasting note then i promise!
