So glad this is one of the teas that’s permanently stocked. It’s my husband’s favorite. Very rich and full banana flavor. Since it’s honeybush, it can be enjoyed both day & night. Our friends’ 2 yr old even loves it. She asks for it by name as “Dennis’ favorite tea”. If you like bananas, you must try it. We steep for about 5 minutes.
I impulse bought this when I saw a post saying that it was back. I don’t know what kind of packed Frank made with the postal service that allows my tea to get shipped to me so quick; cause after 3 days it was here.
When I opened the pouch it kind smelled like dried root-beer(which is now possible). I was glad that I didn’t smell a lot of licorice though. The first time I brewed this I was concerned. It just tasted like regular black tea. I decided to make another pot and combine the two and sweeten till taste. It seems that a higher water to leaf is best if you want to get the butter beer taste, and less of the tea leaves. Another thing is that more sweeter is better.
The flavor of this is awesome. It taste like if root-beer and cream soda had a baby. It definitely tastes better cooler then hotter. I don’t know how Frank puts these together. He must be some kind of wizard…
I went and took some to my co-workes as well, and they all loved it!
Specifics
Water: Two 28oz batches combined
Amount: 2 tsp
Steep: 2:45 each
Sweetener: 4-5 big kitchen spoonfuls of light agave
Pot: Glass
Overall I would recommend this to someone who likes cream/rootbeer soda or who is a big Harry Potter fan
Preparation
I put some of this in a cold cup in the fridge, then forgot what I had brewed. I was pleasantly surprised when I took a sip! This tea is even fantastic iced! The creamy falls away a little bit and is replaced by more lemon, but that also could be because it was my second infusion…
The dogs and I are having an odd morning today. Since next week my alarm clock is going to be set for 3:30am (haha, yea…) I’ve been trying to get up earlier, but my dogs don’t seem to want to wake up until just around now, so it’s a battle of cranky dogs for a few hours.
Anyway, you might see a lot of tea tasting notes from me today because I’ve been slacking on drinking tea and as a result have become DEHYDRATED. Which is NOT good for my weak digestive system :-/ SO, tea is on the agenda today! (Along with homework for the final few weeks of my online classes FINALLY)
So, to the tea. I didn’t smell much when this was in the bag (A sample from Amy Oh; THANK YOU!) but once it was it the cup, YUM! Smells JUST LIKE lemon dessert bars mmmmm. I’m almost afraid to taste it because I don’t want to ruin the taste… Well, here goes nothing… Sip…. Not bad! It has a lighter flavor than the smell, but it does taste almost exactly like it smells! Perfect lemony creamy flavor with just the perfect taste of green tea. Now, I’m not usually a green tea fan, but I actually really like this flavor. Must be a different type of green tea (and I’m a fan!) I think the soymilk I added helps with the creamyness, but I might actually omit it on the next cup and see if it brings out the lemon flavor a bit more. Thanks for the sample Amy Oh and for creating this wonderful tea Frank ! :)

I’ve got some hyper active watchdogs so I get an escort to the bathroom even at 3AM. They’d be more impressive to burglars if they weren’t only 5 pounds each.
Also, this tea sounds amazing. I can’t afford to buy any now due to new financial circumstances. :(
Sipdown
I thought today was a good day to finish off this tea. I have enjoyed this blend very much, although like a lot of flavored teas, it loses some flavor over time. I find that 52T does banana very well. I would order this again if it ever came through as a re-blend…

Good morning Steepster—
It is foggy and gloomy over here, but what else is new? This is San Francisco!
Maybe this tea seems like a strange choice for the morning time, but it actually goes well with the banana flavored instant oatmeal I am having. I like the cinnamon – banana flavor here and it goes really well with soymilk and a bit of coconut sugar.
Preparation
I love banana flavored teas and I just wanted something that seemed slightly decadent. This is good with sugar and soymilk but I do prefer it sweetened vs. plain. It would be nice if there was somehow a decaf version of this, but most decaf teas are dreadful tasting. Maybe Frank should do a banana rooibos…
Preparation
I just woke up from a nap. The pain and discomfort in my arm is making it difficult to sleep and I am grumpy but this is why I have lots of tea to cheer myself up, right? ;-)
I remember I had a sample of this quite a while ago but I really liked it. Sitting next to me after being brewed, it smells really good, just like a gooey banana, cinnamon creamy treat. I decided to add soymilk and just a touch of stevia to this. As far as the flavor is concerned it’s a tad light on the banana for me but stronger on the cinnamon and rum (I knocked it down one point from my previous rating). Either way this is a pretty delicious dessert tea. Others have mentioned drinking this iced and I will definitely need to try that. Should I cold brew it? Anyone? Such yum… Not sorry I got this reblend and I think this will go rather quickly around here.
Preparation
I got this tea in a swap from Madeline Alyce – thank you!
This might be more of a dessert tea than a breakfast tea, but I was pretty keen to try it out anyway. I did add soymilk to mine as well. I am really tired and didn’t sleep much last night for some reason, I might need to go back to bed…
I do like this one a lot but maybe I’m just a fan of banana flavored things. I think I used about 1 tsb of tea in a 16 oz pot and then steeped it for a little over 4 minutes. To me, the flavors are good. I’m picking up on banana, and a bit of rum. The soymilk gives it that creamy, almost dessert like quality and the black tea base is fairly smooth and mild. I see this is sold out already, but if Frank ever re-blended it I think I would pick some up! It also smells incredible.
I did try 1/2 a cup with sugar and 1/2 cup without. It is good both ways but the sugar makes it way more dessert like.
Thanks for the sample, Madeline!
Preparation
If my memory serves me correctly, this seems to have a little less baked goods and icing notes this time around. It is still sweet cinnamon goodness though. Maybe I need to shake that bag up a bit too. I am beginning to enjoy honeybush even more than rooibos these days actually. That darn sweet tooth! 52teas seems to be one of the only companies to do honeybush blends though. I need more!!!
I am also enjoying these more now with less than boiling water. It does seem to keep the sourness at bay.
Preparation
Thanks again Emilie for the generous sample so I could play around with it. I also got this in my grab bag, so I am happy.
This was a cold brewing. DaisyChubb was right, the cream cheese icing comes through more in the cold brew. It tastes noticeably different than a hot brew. It also has less cinnamon roll taste. This is very different than most of my other iced tea, as I like fruity iced teas. A welcomed different iced tea!
Preparation
Thank you Emilie for this very generous sample!
The smell in the bag is really strong cinnamon.
Once brewed, the cinnamon is a little more tame. And then BAM, a wonderful baked goods smell wafts into my nose. Tasting now….this is pretty strong cinnamon, kinda lingering in my mouth a little. The baked taste comes through as a cinnamon roll with butter.
This is a delicious bedtime treat!
I also got this in my grab bag, so I will have lots to enjoy. Cold brew is next for this one!

2022 Sipdown 84/365!
L is for… Lemon-Lime Cheesecake!
This wasn’t a great choice to drink after Lemonberry Whip because I like the previous tea much more (and it’s much, much fresher). However, I can still taste some delicious citrussy flavours, and the classic Frank-style cheesecake flavouring. It is good, but just cannot compete.
