How do I confess my love for thee? I certainly can’t count the ways, but this tea is one of my all-time favourites. It tastes just as it promises, with bright strawberry and dark chocolate, and is especially good with milk. Highly recommended.
Preparation
Back Logging: Okay i guess I was too harsh to judge this and saying that I’m about to part ways with the last teaspoon!:( I loved the Gyokuro and its finest aspects what it can offer a sushi and fishy like aroma and taste. I guess my taste buds has been off lately since a friend of mine told otherwise how well its damn good! It does have an umami like character that gives off a brothy and rich tea, wonderful quality and quite a tea with some astringency. Just loved it!
Update: I kinda regret what I just mentioned above, It appears it does have an umami flavor close to sushi and seaweed. I dont know what went wrong with brewing this tea before but I certainly enjoy more often then I should of…I ran out of this stuff:( oh well…
Preparation
If you’re looking for a high-quality gyokuro I’d recommend a place that specializes in Japanese teas like Den’s Tea. They’re more expensive generally but the quality is worth the extra money.
mellow monk, http://www.o-cha.com/ and Yuuki-Cha would be worth looking into as well.
I’m having a lovely mug of this. I forgot I had it and was craving something sweet. I love the aroma I’m getting from this. It’s just like smashed red raspberries. So sweet. I’m not getting too much chocolate flavor but I can catch hints of a dark chocolate-like flavor. It blends well. mmmmmmmm
It doesn’t smell too much like vanilla, but once steeped, has a sweet, creamy and warm vanilla flavour, not too strong, but nice.
A good tea for nights, but not one to have every night.
I wonder how does it tastes like with a drop of milk.
Preparation
This tea is very strong smelling, with the predominant scent coming from the chocolate. Taste-wise, it’s a different story. Comes across as a mild black tea with slight chocolate and fruit notes. I need to get some plain rooibos to try, before I can comment on the effect it has in this mix.
Preparation
This tea is strongly clove flavored, in a way that many people might not like. I find it reminds me of my teens when I smoked clove cigarettes, in a very good way. The only complaint I have is the lack of vanilla in this vanilla chai. Its there, I’m sure it is, but its too subtle to taste with the potency of the clove. Do I like this tea, absolutely, would I put vanilla in the name, no.
Preparation
This hits the spot when its freezing cold outside and I want a woodsy, malty black tea to warm the bones. Its very complex at different temperatures. Right after steeping, it’s very earthy, almost smokey, with a malty finish. After cooling, some sweeter notes came out and they lingered on the tongue before fading to a wine-like taste. Definitely a favorite for breakfast!
I also had to extol the shape. These leaves are wrapped into little spirals and snails, making it very easy to spoon out with a baking teaspoon, unlike leafier teas that can be a pain in the butt to measure.
Preparation
This tea makes me very happy. I read somewhere that it was like drinking whipped cream, and I can say that I definitely see that in the taste. Best to drink it while warm, if it cools too much it gets a bit bitter. Haven’t tried it chilled yet.
Preparation
I like the Malasa Chai and here’s why (like what I did there?) It’s a fantastic tea for recipes. A little tough on it’s own (on the spicy side,) but when combined with a little bit of this and a little bit of that, it makes a great healthy alternative to your Starbucks latte’.
Now, I’m well aware that a great tea stands alone, but it is really nice to have the option to use some teas from cooking and experimenting.
We post great recipes using Masala Chai on our Facebook page if anyone is interested (along with other great recipes.)
Couldn’t wait to try this one…chocolate, chai…does it get any better? Well, maybe. The aroma of this unbrewed chai is delicious and smells like Mexican hot chocolate. If you’re not a fan of cinnamon and chocolate, you might not like the aroma. Once brewed, the liquor turns a beautiful, warm dark amber brown and the chocolate aroma is still present. But, that’s the end of the chocolate. The cinnamon and cloves overpower the chocolate in this chai blend although it stills makes for a decent cup of tea if you’re looking for something with a bite or punch cuz it’s a spicy one! Don’t know if I’d want to buy this one again, though.
Preparation
Another of the teas i got from Adagio.
This one is very good! its light but flavorful. With whites for me this is always a careful balancing act. I think they pulled it off although that is subjective but what are tea reviews for!
So whole blueberries are in here which is nice, not sure how it affects the longevity of the tea but i usually don’t but high volumes of tea at 1 time so it should not be an issue. So the brew is a nice golden color, its sweet and light with of course blueberry flavor. It is what i want from a white tea. Overall i would buy this again, its priced rather nicely as well when compared to other white teas.
