2021 Homemade Advent Calendar Swap

I had so much fun participating in the homemade advent swap here the last two years, and searching back through past discussions, it looks like we usually got this going in October.

Anyone who wants to participate, please list your tea preferences and whether you’re comfortable shipping abroad in the comments. On October 25th, I’ll assign a shipping order and we can get rolling!

Each person will send their recipient 25 opaque, labeled packets of tea. (Each day should contain enough for at least 1-2 cups of tea.) Feel free to get as creative as you like with the packaging! I’d suggest shipping no later than November 18th to make sure it arrives in time.

How exactly were you thinking of turning it into an advent?

Here are the threads for the ones we did in 2019 and 2020. You just send 25 tea samples based on your partner’s preferences, and if you want to decorate it, that’s optional, but fun! I like to wrap each sample like a tiny present so you can’t see what the name of the tea is until you unwrap it on the day, but everyone does it their own way!

That’s a cute one. Count me in!

Yay!

I just joined since I saw about the Advent Calendar Swap.
I think it will be really fun! I am not very good with internet things though, so please be patient. I wanted to contact AJRimmer to give info, but not sure how. Sorry!

In order to message someone on Steepster, you both have to be following each other. She’ll be notified as well of the posts on this discussion.

I am considering taking part this year again, but again… as based in Europe, it won’t be that easy. Shipping is getting worse and worse as well, which is sad when I finally have money to spend and spoil my Advent partner with tea and some other goodies.

I understand, shipping costs seem to be going up all the time!

I will take part next year. Sorry everyone!

I’d been meaning to ask if anyone wanted to do another Advent swap this year. I loved participating these past two years. Count me in!

I really want to join, but I just don’t think I will have the time between work and school :(. Perhaps next year!

Okay, so even if it’s just a couple of us, I think we can still do it! Anyone who wants to participate, please list your tea preferences and whether you’re comfortable shipping abroad in the comments. On October 25th, I’ll assign a shipping order and we can get rolling!

I’m interested if you can squeeze me in I’m sorry I’m just seeing this! I love black and oolong and red teas. I don’t like stevia sweetened teas. I don’t like peach, licorice or ginger flavors. I like chai. I have a lot of fruit flavors to swap. Decaf or caffeine is fine. I love flavored teas. Bags or loose leaf is fine. I love apple, mint, vanilla and blueberry teas. How much is shipping internationally? I may treat myself to a bunch of teas I’ve never tried before if you can find me someone with similar preferences.

I’ll start:

I enjoy flavored tea – primarily herbals and black tea, though not exclusively. Also preferably loose leaf.
Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, melon, mint, lavender, almond, strawberry, nutty, anything rooibos-related.
Don’t prefer: Smoky, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender), plain tea. Also nothing with gelatin.

Due to high shipping costs, I would prefer to ship within the US this year.

Sounds like fun. I have a TON of shou puerh (see the discussion post where I picked the right number), enough for its whole own advent if anyone is interested.
I enjoy strong black smoky, nutty, malty and chocolatey teas. I don’t mind holiday flavors, cinnamon or other spicy teas.
Not too fond of jasmine or bergamont.
To me the fun of an advent is trying new flavors and enjoying seasonal teas.
I’d be ok with shipping to Canada or the US.

I enjoy plain greens, Puerh, and oolongs.
I also like flavored teas and have no issues with stevia etc.
Some of my favorite flavors include sweet/dessert, banana, grape, tropical, berries, boozy, smoky, genmaicha, floral, herbs/medicinal.

I don’t care for hibiscus heavy teas or spicy cinnamon teas.

I’d prefer to ship within the U.S.

I have my Advent calender wreaths I’m trying to sell but I could trade with someone

I generally prefer pure teas but I also enjoy blended. I’m not a fan of flavored anymore.
I’d prefer just to ship in the US but I’m in MN and I miss going to Canada so I won’t mind shipping there

Can you tell I am not good with these computer things!
I think this will be fun! I have been looking for some kind of tea swap. I did one a good while back & enjoyed it.
I do not like the smoky flavored teas, or anything with rosemary.
I am willing to exchange with anyone abroad, or not. Even maybe 2 people.
Have a good week!!!!
