Bonus Tea for July!

I was inspired to blend this tea by a classic fan favorite “Sun & Cloud Mist”. Those who love that tea know it’s a green tea blend with lemon & marshmallow notes. After tasting this Bai Mu Dan (from this past spring’s harvest) something about the tea spoke to me & what it said was “LEMON”.

I didn’t want to go full-on lemon though – that might overwhelm the delicate beauty of this tea. I wanted something softer. Then I thought about the aforementioned Sun & Cloud Mist & decided to go with that recipe, but with this delightfully light, sweet Bai Mu Dan as a base instead of the green tea blend used in Sun & Cloud Mist.

Fresh, sweet, silky & beautifully bright & lemon-y, this blend is sure to put a smile on any lemon lover’s face. It’s organic, VEGAN, gluten-free, allergen-friendly & all natural!

organic ingredients: white tea, marshmallow root, lemons & natural flavors

I recall liking Sun Cloud and Mist years ago and was excited to acquaint myself with it’s reincarnation. As I was preparing it I was noticing a similarity to Butiki’s Lemon French Macaron which was a favorite of mine. It tastes very similar, but there are a few differences. The lemon in this is sharper and more tangy. Like a fresh squeeze of lemon compared to a more baked flavor. LFM has almond in it and I don’t think this one does. Both have hints of lemongrass and this one has flickers of something that I can only think to describe as ashy, which sounds unflattering in a way I don’t mean. Maybe it’s the hay notes? Either way I’ve found myself quickly at the bottom of this cup and thinking of a resteep to prolong the enjoyment. This is the closest thing I’ve found to LFM and I’m really happy to have it in my cupboard for the brief time it will last before being consumed.

Sipdown! (25 | 434)

Okay, this one is really good. I feel like I’m finally getting the marshmallow notes that I’m always looking for in marshmallow treat-inspired teas, but never finding enough of. This tea is straight up a pile of delicately lemony marshmallow fluff. The white tea base has the perfect light and airy flavor to really complete the vision of marshmallow.

Very scrumptious. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the original green tea version as well…

This was tasty – a delightfully creamy, lemony white. I think I prefer Sun & Cloud Mist a bit more, because of the flavour the tea base added there, but this is a very nice lemon fluff tea.

Funny how all of us are choosing lemony sunshine’s flavours on this chilly day. My choice was a total fluke. It was either this or DT’s Hot Chocolate.

Mine was more or less a fluke too – I just grabbed the most interesting teas from the top of my latest 52teas box! Nice to add some brightness to the day, though.

Yes, lemon does that.
