From DAVIDsTEA

With their soft green colour, naturally sweet taste and cool, juicy flesh, honeydew melons are basically made for spring. In fact, this delicately perfumed fruit has been a popular standby at spring picnics and dinner parties everywhere from the south of France to ancient Rome. So when we mixed luscious honeydew with tangy kiwi and a hint of papaya, we knew it was gonna be good. Light, fruity and totally satisfying, it’s a fresh new way to sweeten up your spring.

I got this tea in the ‘best of 2016’ collection and decided to give it a try since I need to clear out some cupboard space. Sadly this doesn’t seem to be for sale anymore so I’m kind of hoping this isn’t super good? Though the dry leaf does smell quite nice! It’s very fruity and light, perfect for an iced tea it seems. I will also say that the tea has a lot of ‘wet’ chunks in it, interestingly enough.

The tea smells about the same steeped, and has a lovely golden color to it. The tea has sort of a generic fruity taste to it though? I’m not quite getting explicit melon vibes from though, but it’s delicious and light so to me it doesn’t really matter.

Overall, I think this makes an excellent iced tea and am pretty bummed that it’s gone. Hopefully there will be more melon-ish teas from David’s in the future.

This tea has a light fruity flavor that I love all day. I’ve been primarily drinking it iced and can’t get enough.

Cannot get enough of this. Had to buy more on a recent trip to the mall and DavidsTea. It helps that my kids also enjoy the tea iced. I love it hot as well.

Sipping this iced right now while watching Mr. Mercedes (King is another one of my addictions).

I like it too!

Cat-Nap

It is the perfect amount of sweet and melon flavour. I will be sad if they stop selling this.

Not my favourite tea. Better with lemon juice. Way too sugary, says something coming from someone loving that sugary sweet.

Sweet and a little liiiiitttle bit tart, more fruity than melon-y. Drinks well when cooled, but not so much a fan of it when hot.

I knew I wasn’t going to be a huge fan of this tea just from smelling it. Melons are not my favorite thing but it came in my sampler and I plan to test everything. It was definitely a sweet tea. I always add sugar to teas but this one did not need it. It tasted strongly of green and orange melon.

Started the day off at the local Saturday market with the buzz of children and the hum of activity. Had a stellar spelt waffle with peaches and maple syrup for breakfast with the punch of caffeinated black tea.

Thankfully, the killer humidity has given way to lower temperatures and breezy sunshine. It is so nice, so nice. I wandered around a bit after breakfast. Bought some field tomatoes and mixed greens for an evening salad. Left the market for the health food store to stock up on a few staples.

At home, the neighbourhood construction has quieted down, but the end of summer Air Show from the National Exhibition continues. These planes flying by every three minutes is such an end of summer signal. I ignore the plane tricks, but the sound alone indicates that either we are about to be invaded or school is about to start.

Chilling out here with a cup of this delight. I needed a break from the caffeine and this is just perfect. It’s like a mix between real watermelon and honeydew. Perfect thing to be sipping on a beautiful day in shorts and a tank top with the fan nearby for effect.

I love the sound of the planes going by. I always try to rush to a window or outside to get a glimpse of them. But you’re right. It is the signal of the end of summer. I enjoy the cooler air but do not look forward to winter.

I am hoping that we will have a few mild days before the next blast of extreme weather. Oh for those in-between seasons that we have so little of.

Sounds like a lovely day!

What a lovely Saturday for you, Evol. :)

True to its name, this is melon, melon and more melon! Added a little honey. Quite enjoyable. Looking forward to trying it iced!

Similar to many melon tea’s, Melon Drop needed to be steeped for a long time or use 2-3 perfect spoons to get much flavour.

I myself am not a fan of melon things unless it’s the actual fruit and I am eating it so it’s no surprise that I did not enjoy this one. I bought it mostly for my boyfriend because he likes the flavor of melon things. I will keep it around for him.
