I love lavender flavored things, but they can often err on the side of perfume city. This one walks the line pretty carefully, but is nicely balanced by the honey flavor. It was very nice as an iced latte!

SO MANY TASTING NOTES!!
(Seriously – I’m trying to get notes up for all the new teas today, but it’s been insane balancing that with everything else going on in the world right now.)
This is from the Spring/Summer flip, which means it’s seasonal but will be around for a longer period than your typical limited edition tea. That said, it’s only in limited stores and online. I like this matcha – in fact, I really like almost ALL the new matchas. I’ve struggled coming to peace with lavender as a matcha flavour because I personally associate lavender so strongly with sleep/relaxation but matcha with stimulation/energy. However, it terms of sheer flavour it’s very well balanced. Sweet and floral but not soapy or like perfume. The lavender is detectable but not overpowering and the same can be said for the honey. In fact, the honey reminds me a lot of Wild Honey matcha so for people missing that tea I think this could potentially be a get substitute. It’s also so creamy, dreamy and soft/soothing as a latte! Definitely the best way to make it in my opinion – hot or iced.
I definitely nabbed some of this for myself, despite thinking the idea of lavender and matcha is a bit strange.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
