this one fell somewhere in the middle of malty with a little bit of astringency. basically neither roswell strange nor variaTEA’s experience – just midpoint. I enjoyed it as a result. I am never a huge fab of tea bags…hate the environmental impact even when they’re biodegradable . But this was a nice change from the 3 teas i’ve had to drink haha

Roswell Strange and I had very different experiences with this tea. She got malt and breadiness and I am getting a lot of mineral and astringency. It’s a big NO for me and thankfully a sipdown. Nevertheless, thank you Roswell Strange for sharing and giving me the chance to try something new…even if it didn’t quite work out with this cup :P
I feel like it’s been a long time since I last had an East Frisian blend, but this was quite a nice one – especially for a bagged tea. I added a tiny, tiny amount of milk to the cup but I honestly probably could have left it out. It’s such an intense, full bodied black tea but at the same time is wickedly smooth – no astringency/bitterness. The predominant flavour is just a very strong, intense malt note. However there’s also a bread-y quality too; like Soda Bread. Good to start the morning with, as a Breakfast Blend alternative.
