This smells super tropical. The flavor is definitely still tropical, but the base takes over a little, and white tea isn’t really my thing. I can’t tell exactly what fruits it’s going for, but I can taste something like pineapple. The base is a little drying and plant-like. If the tropical flavors were stronger, this would be really great.

Adventaggedon Day 11: Tea 6/7

Sipped on this one in the morning while catching up on some of this week’s past Vlogmas videos from TeaWithJann – it was nice getting to sip on an advent tea while watching her go through some of her daily advent rotations.

Kusmi really always nails their flavoured white teas! I sometimes find the combination of mango and passionfruit overdone (and a bit basic) but I saw this one in the morning and just had full confidence that I was going to love it regardless! Nice and medium bodied with distinct notes of sweet mango and passionfruit. Not acidic or tart or tangy. Just smooth and pleasantly, well, tropical.

This is yet another flavoured white tea from Kusmi that I would totally buy for myself – though not quite as good as the White Bellini.

Kusmi Advent Calendar – Day 22

I assume this is the same as the Mango-Passion Fruit white tea from Løv Organic, which I remember enjoying. I still have a couple of unopened boxes of sachets of the Peach-Blackcurrant version that was my favorite of the three. But I’m glad one of them made the transition to Kusmi! The aroma is a nice mix of passion fruit and mango, with the former dominating.

Yummy, this is quite good. I’m pleasantly surprised that I can taste the white base quite clearly, as the aroma was very strong on the flavoring. It’s a generic bai mudan with soft and mellow hay and grain notes and a hint of mustiness. There’s an unexpected minerality to it, and looking at the ingredients, I think it’s the green tea. The flavoring is very juicy and authentic, and I think I get the passion fruit more at the beginning of the sip, while the end reminds me of biting into a fresh mango. There’s a light creaminess in the aftertaste that reminds me of mango lassi, and a whisper of floral.

I like this one! I think I could do without the green tea, but that’s a minor criticism. I’m not sure I need this one in my cupboard however, just because I already have both passion fruit and mango teas that I really love…

Advent Day 22

Trying to focus on this tea and not on people being mean online, but there is so much negativity out there even in work related groups! I need to remember to stay in my cup. I’m liking the passionfruit scent and flavor. It dominates the sip for me. The mango comes out at the start of the finish and lingers for a long time. I bet this would be a great tea for summer cold steeping. This is a tea I think I would buy!

A six year old student of mine told me today that a boy called her a “Fraidy Cat of the virus.” I told her I was sorry he did that and that he must have heard an adult say such things, but I thought she was being wise, and to just keep being her nice self even when others are not nice.

I didn’t tell her I wanted to slap the people who raise a child to talk that way.

Dustin

I’m glad she had you to balance out the boy’s comments! The pandemic seems to be bringing out the worst in people at times. :(

Discovered this colorful, brightly lit tea shop at one of the Paris metro stations. The brand looked vaguely familiar although I don’t think I’ve ever had it. The store seemed like a French version of Teavana with a large selection of blends and straight teas. This was one of the samples they offered me and I liked it so much that I ended up buying it along with a couple of other teas.

This tea is an example of a well done blend. White tea because of its delicateness can get overpowered or lost with other flavorings. But here you can still taste its soft texture underlying the subtle tropical flavor. The passion fruit and mango mingle together beautifully to add a sweet, pleasing tang. I had this iced and it was fantastic…the perfect summer refresher.

Kusmi teas are really hit or miss for me; there’s a shop here in Montreal and whenever I’m the area I try to stop in even if it’s just to try a free sample. Their blending style is nice; they never really mask the base choice – I just find a lot of the flavour profiles overlap quite a bit.

LuckyMe

@Roswell, good to know they don’t mask the base as I like subtle flavoring. I bought two other blends sight unseen: a peach green and blueberry coconut. Hoping they turn out to be food as this one.
