First tea from the TTB. I probably could use the caffeine, as I don’t want to fall asleep too early, but I also don’t want to be up till late. So I figured we’d start off with something new to my palate.
Smells like curry. I bet this would make a good curry base.
I’m generally pretty good about reading ingredients due to my allergies, but I completely skipped over the listed salt. Boy, was that awakening in a weird way. I’m sorry but… what in…. the… heck…. This is a cooking tisane… not something I want to drink. Not with that amount of saltiness. This actually would make a really good soup base. Just add some soba and tofu or chicken and bok choy. But on its own… I know it’s good for me, so I’ll finish it, but it’s going to be a struggle. I need some water…

UPDATE: I decided to try some soba noodles from dinner in it. Tasty, but would be better thickened as a curry. I can’t drink the rest. It’s making me too thirsty. I will need to keep drinking a glass of water every sip. This is not enjoyable…

Ha yes this one was shocking

Skysamurai

I honestly want to know if the people who tested it really thought people would straight up drink it and not use it for cooking. I make tea cooking blends and this is great for that but drinking… good grief

Ume Kombu Cha from Japan is like that for me… in Japan they will just drink it straight up, but for me, I have to put ramen noodles in it and use it as a broth because it is very salty.

TTB! I won’t lie, the first sip I had of this, I gagged a little. It smelled so savory, but even so, my mouth wasn’t ready. It tastes exactly how it smells. It’s super strong and savory and spiced like some sort of curry. I added oat milk, which helped a lot. It tastes fine as long as you know what to expect, but I never need this ever again.

It sounds like the tea is honestly named! Spicy, savory, and generates an adaptation— for you, to avoid it in the future. Better luck in your next sips!

I gave my partner a sip without warning him, and it shocked him so much that he was suspicious about every sip I gave him of anything for the next week ha.

TTB 2025. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t what I got. I literally grimaced after taking my first sip. Then I made my poor partner try it; he grimaced and asked why I subjected him to this. Safe to say that this blend is not a winner in this household.
The spice combo itself is fine, it’s just that it doesn’t really work as a tea. This could be good as a broth base or for cooking grains with. Just not on its own as a beverage – the flavors are just TOO savory and strong for that.
