From Tillerman Tea

From Qimen in Anhui province, this tea is rich and full-bodied. The small leaves are rolled then fired to produce a twisted leaf that brews into a deep red color. Floral aromatics with hints of cinnamon and smoke blend perfectly with malty flavors and with touches of orange peel. Rich and complex there is no wonder that this is one of China?s most popular black teas.

Brewing Suggestions:
Use between 3-5 grams of tea, about a heaping teaspoon. Pour water between 195? ? 205? over the leaves and steep for 1 to 2 minutes. Always remember to adjust steeping time depending on water temperature, amount of tea you have and personal flavor preference. Increase time and temperature slightly with each infusion.

This tea is my first of the day. There’s not much I have to say about it. It was a decent cup of tea. I found the predominant flavor to be that of mild smoke. I tried to brew a strong-ish cup without over-leafing, but it still turned out to be pretty weak in flavor, but it did dry out my throat…
