This tea has a light texture and moderate astringency, with an expanding note of gardenia blossom. While pleasant, the sharpness never quite fades and leaves an unrefined impression. Steep carefully.
An interesting oolong produced from one of Japan’s newer tea cultivar Benifuuki. It has a smooth floral taste reminiscent of Taiwan’s Baozhong.
Benifuuki was produced by crossing Benihomare, an assamica variety Japanese cultivar designed for black tea with MakuraCd86, a sinensis variety cultivar from Darjeeling.
