I drank this yesterday in the early evening, & it wasn’t totally steeped out, so I started sipping it again this morning, 30 second steeps.
It does still have quite a bit of flavor, & I am tasting the chocolatey & honey essence, along with a buttery texture. There is also a rockiness to the taste. There are other flavors there that I really identify, even though some of them are familiar, & there is still a flavor in there that I don’t really care for much, but have sort of gotten used to. As Sil would say, “heh”. ;)

This tea & I have had a difficult relationship. It definitely is only a tea for short steepings, very short steepings. I’ll probably drink a few more, & then move on.

LOL you made me laugh. i didn’t realise how often i write that. clearly i don’t run around in life saying “heh” but it’s easier to convey “soft snort under my breath demonstratingXXXX” hahahaha

LOL, believe it or not, my son Drew says, “meh” all the time. It doesn’t really mean anything (like ‘this tea is bland’) when he says it, it’s what he says when other people would shrug their shoulders, or sometimes it mean yes, sometimes no, sometimes maybe. He also say ‘ay’ a lot. It’s how he opens most sentences when he walks in the room.

Anyway, keep say ‘heh’, LOL. It makes you sound badass, like a pirate or biker chic! :D

Sil

hahaha. no no no if you wanna sound like a pirate, that’s ARRRRRR!

Terri HarpLady

Naw, they only say Arrrrr sometimes, they say lots of other things. Check out this link to International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept 19th) http://www.talklikeapirate.com/howto.html

lol yes.. so funny story about that. My “anniversary” with my other half is on talk like a pirate day. he chose the date and swears it had nothing to do with talk like a pirate. I don’t believe him. And yes, i celebrate this day..and forec everyone in my office to as well lol

Terri HarpLady

Awesome! Last September I did all my tea posts in pirate character (actually on the 20th because I totally lost track of what day it was & missed the 19th. That’s one of the risks of being self employed ). I even picked teas for a pirate themed day: buttered rum, black dragon pearl, etc. I am hoping to get more people to participate next time : )
Wouldn’t it be awesome to have all of Steepster talking like pirates!

Sil

oh man…yes please lol

Bio

I’m so excited to have found this community! I’m a self-employed Harpist (acoustic & electric – Originals, Classical, Rock, Jazz, etc) & Singer/Songwriter. My days & nights revolve around teaching at home, playing gigs, gardening,& fixing awesome food to eat. My schedule is different everyday, but I just go with the flow, & I sip a lot of tea!

My love of Tea began with Herbals back in the 70’s. One of my favorites was a licorice blend from House of Hezekiah, an old tea shop in Kansas City. There was also a tea with mint, rose petals, chamomile, etc called Nuclear Casual Tea.
In the 80’s I gave up caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, (& a few illicit substances…), and brewed medicinal blends & tinctures to support 4 pregnancies (all children born at home). In the 90’s my love affair with green teas began when I discovered ‘The Republic of Tea’. Their beautiful teas & packaging inspired my original song, “TeaMind”, from my CD “Zen Breakfast”. If you’d like to hear the song for free, drop by my website.

In general, I drink my teas straight, but occasionally I add a pinch of Stevia & maybe some coconut or almond milk (I’m allergic to dairy, gluten, & various other things & avoid most sweets.)

I’ve explored a variety of teas:
Whites tend to be a little bland…sorry
Oolongs – wonderfully sensual
Roobios – I’m not a fan in general
Puehr – a fairly new direction for me
I’m not a huge fan of flavored teas, but I do make exceptions, & I’ll try just about anything once.

And Black Tea, Oh how I love thee!!
I am on a quest for the most wonderful breakfast cup! I will find you, my Love!
