To go today is Fantasy Island. I am enjoying my cup of tea! The raspberry is not overpowering the coconut, and I loooove coconut in my tea. I would definitely get some of this to take home.. perhaps next week :)
27 Tasting Notes
Um… just realized have been in DT every day since Saturday. Mostly by accident, normally we aren’t downtown that often but it just happened. And it also happens that the same 2 boys have been working as well… ah the shame. But they love it haha ;)
Tonight my cup is full of Checkmate. Lovely, absolutely lovely. It’s one of those teas that I’m not always in the mood for, but right now the coconutty black tea flavour is just htiting the right spot. It doesn’t quite taste like chocolate like the description would have you believe, but the chamomile flowers just lend a certain… tenderness to the flavour. I say again, lovely. Probably would be delicious as a latte.
Went down to David’s to check out the new spring line. Had to rein myself in before just going ahead and buying all the new shiny things! Got a cup of Copabanana since it is the only non-caffeinated one of the new bunch. I was a little wary because I’m not much of a banana flavour person, but this blend is absolutely delicious. The DT person told me to leave the bag in and she was right, the flavour has just been improving. I also have to say I took my first sip after 10 or so minutes and it was fantastic, so maybe don’t be too eager!
Had this to-go tonight, brand new tea! I really love the combination; the coconut makes it creamy and the ginger gives it a really nice bite. The only thing that I’m not a huge fan of is a certain dryness that I get on the tongue that I think might be the lemongrass, but overall pretty yummy.
This is surprisingly delicious. Dry, it mosty smells like pineapple candy. Steeped it kind of tastes like pineapple candy but the oolong cuts in just enough to keep it from being too sweet. A pleasant cup!
Yummy. I felt like the chocolate blended really well with the earthiness of the pu’erh, and the hint of orange gave it a refreshing finish. I would definitely try this one again, maybe put it in the cupboard next tea-buying cycle :)
This tea is so cute with its lips and its chocolate chips. I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when the chocolatey mint hits my tongue, with just a little bit of warmth from the peppercorns. Yum.
This is a lovely tea. I had it to-go today from David’s and the woman who served it to me recommended leaving it to steep as long as possible so I’ve just left the bag in. The flavours have blossomed over the last 15 minutes. It’s light like any white tea, with a creaminess from the coconut that blends with the mulberries perfectly. It’s actually very similar to my memory of Cookie Dough, which might just be the white tea talking, but they’re both light and creamy and just lovely to sit and sip. Yum.
Lovely vanilla aroma, light flavours, highly enjoyable moderately caffeinated tea.
I see some chocolate chips in this little sampler, I feel like I’m in for something tasty, or at least hope so!
Smells chocolatey, little less on the chai side but definitely get some of the black tea in there.
I definitely expected this to have more flavour so I put the leaves back in again to steep a little longer. You get a little bit of warmth from the peppercorns, and can definitely detect the chocolate but none of it is strong. A bit boring in the end but any more steeping would make it way too pepper-y. Ah well.

I think I let’er steep a little long this time, got some sour notes in there. Will have to watch that for next time!
This is a nice morning tea for me because it isn’t really sweet like some of the flavoured teas. Nice black tea flavour that the caramel blends with nicely. I left it to steep a little too long, but a little milk took the bitterness away and let the caramel really shine.
Had this one to-go from David’s today and my, my, my! It doesn’t have a strong aroma, but once you have your first swallow all you can taste is a lovely sweet, nutty, cookie-doughy goodness. I think this is one that I might try to get into my cupboard the next time I get to buy tea!!
I like this tea for its simplicity. Just a nice minty tea, no funny after tastes or confusing mixes of different kinds of mint.
My partner got 25 g of this last night for us to try this morning. I’m not a coffee drinker, but this has a lovely flavour. You can see the coffee beans in among the leaves, and the colour after steeping makes it look like a strong dark coffee. But the flavour doesn’t knock your boots off, it’s actually very smooth. The blend of the coffee and the pu’erh works really well, and it gets nice and creamy when you add a little milk.
Got a cup to-go from David’s this evening. You can really smell both the chocolate and the mint and unlike some “chocolate” teas I can actually taste it in this one! And it doesn’t suffer from letting the bag just hang out in the to-go cup, which is always a plus when you’re taking your tea for a walk!
I had this tea last night while I was at a Girl Guide meeting with some pre-teens. Absolutely delicious, this is a tea where I actually get a lovely chocolate flavour that seems to come up out of the depths to say “Hey girl, did ya miss me?” Definitely on the shopping list for next time…
Mmm soothing. A nice light vanilla flavour hints of citrus but nothing in your face, perfect for sipping on a cold afternoon.
What a fantastic tea! I love how fruity it is, wonderful flavoured green tea doesn’t need anything added.

Ah Chocolate Rocket. I wish you had more chocolate to you. Perhaps, being an addict, I don’t say “WOOO chocolatey!” unless it hits me in the face. To me this is more Rasberry Rocket with a hint of chocolate, and when I see it that way I am no longer disappointed, and actually quite content to drink this tea. I love the stimulating factor that comes with a mate, and the rasberry/almond scent is invigorating.
Nothing special here, I would take Twinnings breakfast tea over this guy. It’s not a bad black tea but there is nothing so delicious about it as to make you want to come back for more.
Lovely. Rooibos with detectable almond and coconut flavours for sure. Excellent even if it steeps for a little too long.
