NaNoWriMo 2014

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) 2014

http://nanowrimo.org/ Your aim: a 50,000-word rough draft in the 30 days of November.

Any fellow Steepsters doing it again this year? Let’s check in what we are writing, progress, as well as what teas we are drinking!

My member name is Awkwardsoul if you want to buddy!

I had 2 crazy dreams in September that both would make interesting young adult novels. I’m going to work on the one I have sketched out more, though I got to do some research on a few things, mostly cultural stuff and names. Ugg, I really don’t want to have a whole bunch of placeholder names while I write something!

I hate doing that as well, but have yet to come up with acceptable names for my 2 main characters.

So tempted to do it, but knowing I also have reviews and interviews to write for Cultbox, possibly a short story for a new book, and a Commonwealth Prize entry, and hopefully a day job, I’m destined to fail!

I think I’ll be doing it this year. I sat out last year, I believe. I’ve lost track of which number time this will be for me at this point.

Name is Angrboda there also.

I sat out last year too, but was in for 2012. I feel I got good ideas that I’ll make the time to do the writing!

I do NaNo every year and have reached the point where NaNo is a lifestyle.

There are a few tea threads in the NaNoWriMo forums, including a tea swap (http://nanowrimo.org/forums/all-ages-coffee-house/threads/172163) and a tea discussion thread that I may have started (http://nanowrimo.org/forums/writing-groups-and-clubs/threads/173980). Pop in and say hello!

Ah I should, just as some structure and motivation to work on my books, but November always ends up being super busy and a bad time for me to focus on writing.

I’m doing it! Will be the fourth year doing it, and I’m excited. I love NaNo, it pushes me in the best ways. And I drink tons of tea doing it.
I’m Peculiarheroine, if anyone wants to buddy up!

I love NaNoWriMo! I’ve participated three times and won twice. Unfortunately, I am unable to participate this year as my evenings are taken up with homework continuing education classes. :( Cheering on all of you who are taking on the challenge!

I’ve thought of doing it before (and would love to someday!), but the only way I’d be able to fit it in between work and other commitments is sacrificing sleep – and lots of it. So I will have to sit it out, but I’m still pecking away at my WIP nonetheless…

Good luck to everyone who goes for it! :)

This will be my 4th time, & although all of my rough drafts are still just rough drafts, its exhilarating to write them, to say the least. My first 2 years were wins, but last year got a little crazy, & I only made it to 17000 words.
oh well… here’s to another successful crazy fun November of writing obsessively, dangerously, and freely, inspired by dreams & lots & lots of Tea!!
Feel free to make me your writing buddy, I’m on there as harpsinger

I really should do this. I really should. I say this every year and then I don’t. But I really should.
