6 Tasting Notes

Wuyi Rou Gui from Tip Top Tea

Lovely spiced peach aroma and roasted forest floor notes. In the mouth it’s a soft and supple drink. Personally I like the later infusions where it begins to soften even more and presents a soft freshness. I prefer Gong-Fu style with this…

1970s Pinlin Aged Oolong from The Essence of Tea

Exceptional tea. It’s so understated yet full of aroma and emotion. On the nose there is a lot of cinnamon, and other spices with a lovely caramel body. In the mouth some of that wet leaf and forest floor show up. Dusty minerals and ‘brown’ flavors linger on the finish. The best part though is how the finish lingers for minutes.

Earl Grey Bluestar from Tip Top Tea
73

Intense orange nose full of floral hints and some stewed fruits. With a short steep this is a lovely tea that has a great balance of orange intensity and black tea flavors. Good for at least 3 steeps, with it mellowing nicely as it goes along.

Chun Jian Zang from TeaSpring

Very earthy but with chocolate and very attractive roasted flavors. Strange on the first brew, where the earthiness is very strong. The great thing is that this can last 5 or 6 steeps easily. rich wet earth aromas, and chocolate notes that dance in and out. Great value for the money.

An Ji Bai Cha 2012 from TeaSpring

Light apricot, grassy, lovely sweetness in the mid palate with a finish that is lingering. Really love the fresh bright flavors you find here.

Golden Yunnan from Tip Top Tea

Vanilla, nutty, cream soda this tea is easily good for 5 steeps. Tend to prefer it brewed a bit cooler so that all the sweet nuttiness and vanilla aromas come out.
